4.0 out of 5 stars Nice bike for the buck, May 15, 2009
By M. Goll "Joker" (Jacksonville, FL) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this bike about a week ago. I was looking into getting an entry level bike for training and getting fit. I wasn't sure if i liked racing or road biking for that matter. And i didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a bike that i might not like so I did my research on entry level road bikes and ended up with this one. It is hard to find an entry level bike for women that's not 700 dollars and up and not at a bike store. I was skeptical about purchasing this bike but i went ahead and tried it. I must say that I am very pleased. There was some assembly to be done but once that was done and i took it to the road and have been riding at least one hour a day since. I love road biking and I feel like i'm getting a workout. Going to begin training for my first 28 mile race and I think this is a good bike. I'm about 5'5" and this bike can be adjusted to anyone about 5'2" and 5'7".

1.0 out of 5 stars You are getting a frame ONLY, August 24, 2009
By Jennifer Webber (Lomita, CA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I headed the advice from previous buyers and bought this bike with the idea that I might receive a damaged product. I did. The front and back rims are bent, the gears came 50% assembled and had no instruction on how to complete assembly, the bike comes without a single quick disconnect on anything, the derailleur has miscellaneous plastic parts, and the brakes and shifters are junk. The way I look at it, I bought a frame for $170 and will have to buy everything else separately. This bike out of the box is unrideable and unsafe. Do not expect to hop on this one right away. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to get into road racing and you do not want to assemble your bike from the ground up; spend more and buy something with more quality from top to bottom.

2.0 out of 5 stars Buy used instead!, October 13, 2009
I bought this for my wife as we both got into cycling to prepare for our first triathlon. When I bought this I knew nothing about bicycles. Since buying this bicycle however, I have been forced to learn.

The bicycle has many problems. The most serious of which are the brakes. The brake levers are ridiculously hard to squeeze and the levers require a far reach, both of which are not ideal for a woman's bicycle. The brake calipers and the brake levers had to be changed. The tubes and rim liners had to be replaced as the rim liners were too soft allowing the tube to herniate into the rim and burst. My wife has been having trouble shifting the gears I realized that the derailleurs are faulty, especially the front one. After a few trips to the bicycle shop I also realized that although this bicycle is made of aluminum it is much heavier than a proper steel bicycle. A proper aluminum bicycle is half the weight if this bicycle. Lastly, the grip shift system sucks!

This bicycle is very cheap and looks tempting for a beginner. A decent new entry level women specific design (WSD) bicycle is about $700 but there is always the option of used for around $400-300. If you buy this bicycle you will have to replace many parts and it will never be as good as a cheap used steel road bicycle. I would recommend you not buy this bicycle, buy used instead.

To look on the bright side, buying this bicycle has forced me to learn about bicycles to the point where I now feel comfortable about building a bike from parts.

Gears click out of the box and will require a tune up in the shop, but it is a nice looking bike. Shipping caused scratches, but Amazon riembursed for the issues.
