Tricky to use but it works.
Good points, perfect circle, easy to use and change blades, accurate. Cuts through foam board and mats. Very easy to use.
Bad points. It is trial an error to get the size you need, if precision is required. The scale or numbers on the machine do not match to inches or metric (unless i am doing something work). It takes practice and "dry runs" to get the circle exactly where you want it.

Over all i am satisfied with the product and would recommend it.

I bought this for a fairly large-scale craft project: I'm making advent calendars for six people, and so needed to cut 6 x 24 holes out of foam board. I received the cutter, put in the blade (a little difficult to get the blade holder to reattach, but got it) and started using the cutter. It worked really well for the first 2 boards (48 holes). Then it started catching at the edges of the circles. I replaced the blade - no difference, the edges were still jagged (see photo). I realized that the whole internal mechanism had somehow gotten a little wobbly, and even though I tightened everything as much as I could (and even took the whole assembly apart and put it back together, the wobble is still there.

I'm giving the product three stars because it did work very well for a while, but now it's basically useless. I am going to return it and get another; I'll update this review once I've gotten the new one and used it to try and finish the project.

BTW, I would not let younger children use this, and even tweens and younger teens should probably be supervised carefully. The cutting is perfectly safe, but after each circle you have to "rewind" the cutter, and there's no great way to do this. You have to stand the cutter on its side, which makes it liable to slip and the blade is right there.

Bought this for a school project but ended up not using it. Takes a little getting use to, to cut a circle cleanly. I think the blade type is a #16 (scoring blade) and I noticed that it would not cut cleanly through a 3/16" foam board. I think if the blade was shaped more like the #11 or the #2 blades you would have better results.
To be more technical about the blade that came with this circle cutter, my conclusion is as follows. the angle of the blade is fine, but the cutting edge of the blade is not quite long enough to completely cut through the foam board. Therefore a blade with a slightly longer edge (like the #2, #11 blades) would be ideal. Remember for the best results, use a scrap piece of foam board underneath your project piece in lieu of the cutting mat.

My sister-in-law has a "Hungry Caterpillar" theme for her nursery. I created many shower decorations with it quite successfully. It works wonderfully! I used it on foam and construction paper. It's so easy to use and definitely worth it!

I bought this to cut precise openings in a foam board for a wall display of coins. It was easy to load the blade and the holes it cuts are very clean, but there's a couple of gotchas you have to watch out for. First, the gauge for setting the diameter of the hole to be cut is not very accurate. It's close, but don't rely on it to cut the exact size on the first try. Use a piece of scrap material and make a couple of test cuts first. Second, be sure to put a piece of scrap under the area you're cutting into and be sure to cut through into the scrap so you'll get a clean circle. And finally, you have got to hold the cutter very firmly against the piece you're cutting or it will skate around and give you a ragged mess. Once I had these figured out, using it was a breeze.

I was skeptical at first and even had to talk to the nice lady at their customer support to figure it out (what this says about my level of mechanical aptitudes is best left unsaid.) but as of now I have used it to cut well over a thousand perfect circles in my favorite archival quality foam core board and I love it. And I've only been through one blade so far. Its fun to use but WATCH that blade when you are screwing it back into place to cut again!

Some people can do circle cuts in foam core by hand with an exacto, others use rotary cutters but that never worked for my projects. This tool has finally allowed me to add circle cuts to my arsenal! Admittedly the "measurement" function on the blade is pointless for me so I have to make a test cut or two and measure to verify accuracy.
