"SOLID SHOCKS!"

Product Description

A Double Dose of Terror from the Directors of DAWN OF THE DEAD and SUSPIRIA

The masters of modern horror - George Romero and Dario Argento - bring you an unprecedented pair of shockers inspired by the tales of Edgar Allan Poe. In Romero's "The Facts In The Case Of Mr. Valdemar," a conniving wife (Adrienne Barbeau of THE FOG) and her lover use a hypnotic trance to embezzle a fortune from her dying husband, only to receive some chilling surprises from beyond the grave. Then in Argento's "The Black Cat," a deranged crime scene photographer (Harvey Keitel of RESERVOIR DOGS) is driven to brutal acts of madness and murder by his girlfriend's new pet. But will this cunning feline deliver a final sickening twist of its own?

Martin Balsam (PSYCHO) and Tom Atkins (MANIAC COP) co-star in this wild horror hit that also features grisly effects by gore master Tom Savini (FRIDAY THE 13TH, THE PROWLER). Blue Underground is proud to present TWO EVIL EYES in a new High Definition transfer, featuring remixed 7.1 DTS-HD and 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtracks, and packed with exclusive Extras.

EXTRAS:
"Two Masters' Eyes" - Interview with Directors Dario Argento and George Romero, Special Make-up Effects Supervisor Tom Savini, Executive Producer Claudio Argento and Asia Argento
"Savini's EFX" - A Behind-the-Scenes look at the film's Special Make-up Effects
"At Home With Tom Savini" - A personal tour of Tom Savini's Home
"Adrienne Barbeau on George Romero" - Interview with Star Adrienne Barbeau

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cult Title on Blu-Ray, July 26, 2009
Two Evil Eyes Brings together two Cult Icon Directors George A. Romero and Dario Argento to adapt two Poe Tales. Argento's episode of The Black Cat is the standout and arguable on of his greatest and darkest films post-Opera. While Romero's episode is not up to par with his other films, it's still a lot of fun.

BU's Blu-Ray works perfect in my player, with excellent picture, sound, and great extras! In response to the other review, Blue Underground has a great track record with customers, if you have a defective disc email them and they will replace your product for free.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware of defective product, June 24, 2009
By Martin Andersen (Bergen, Norway) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
It appears it is my turn to post a negative review solely due to media problems and Amazon.com policy. However--I've now tested two separate Blu-Ray's of this release and neither one is recognized at all by my PS3 (running the latest firmware). That is, it spins for a while, but no "BD-MV" icon appears.

Obviously all other discs (Blu-Ray and otherwise) work fine, so it appears to either be some strange incompatibility or a defective disc pressing/mastering of this release from Blue Underground.

Anyway, since I've already lost money due to currency conversion as well as having to return the item from overseas (at great expense), I feel I should warn other PS3 users in case the problem is PS3-specific...
