5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, April 4, 2009
These cards are really excellent. You can't do better for the price. I have a gtx280 and gtx260. They perform similarly, but the gtx260 is almost half the price.

Basically, the gtx260 does fine on a good 500W power supply with enough amps (mine is on an Antec Earthwatts with two 17amp +12volt rails).

The gtx280 needs more power. I have mine on a 720W Enermax which is probably more than enough. I could SLI two 260s on it.

The gtx260 is well-matched to a 22" or smaller widescreen LCD monitor at 1680x1050.

The gtx280 is well-matched to 24" screen size at 1920x1200 (Full HD).

Both of the cards look alike, are the same large size, and both idle cool and quiet and exhaust the hot air outside the case. Even under load, the cards do not get too loud.

Good engineering, good price, and in my experience very stable and high-performing Vista drivers (32 and 64 bit).

A next level card. I'm happy this time around. The gtx260 core216 is a great buy, just make sure you can fit it in your case and have an adequate power supply.

I currently play both at 1440x900 with everything max out, DX10 tweaked, and modified for Ultra mode (done in Warhead benchmark), and practically never goes below 30 fps, almost always at 35-40 fps. It's pointless to talk about every other game benchmarks, but I can say that all of them plays at maxed visuals (1680x1050) without a hinch!!!

P.D.: EVGA 275 looks great too!!! If u have the money go for that one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every dime !!!, June 25, 2009
By RagenRat (Aurora IL) - See all my reviews
After much looking and thinking about stepping up to a card of this caliber I did make the plunge. I have two SLI computers and have spent a lot of money for two cards but never this much for a single card.
I was very pleased to see the the windows rating topped out at 5.9 with this card and better yet plays movies at High res. all day long. Game play is second to none that I have played with this card. Getting it into my case however took a little work. I did have to move some of my wiring to get it in and buy a few sata cables that had right angles to clear by laying flat out of the way. The length of this does require a mid atx or full case to work. Mines a mid atx case, This single card works as well as my SLI computers at a lower cost figuring all the extra components required to complete a SLI set up. DDR2 computers can really benefit from running a DDR3 video card.
Buying this card has been a great experience for me. Hope this help's make spending this much for a video card a easy one.
