Got it for my Chromecast since the ports on my TV are so cramped. I ran a standard HDMI cable from the port to a strategic location on the TV stand that would afford better WiFi signal and still let me use the built-in USB port on the TV to power the Chromecast. I plugged the adapter into the other end of the cable and the Chromecast into the adapter and it worked like a charm. Monoprice has always made great products that are far more reasonably priced than the big name alternatives. I'm sure there are "better" adapters out there, but this one does exactly what it says it does without any grief, and that is all that matters to me!

Solved the issue with my parents TV. The back panel of my parents' TV barely leaves any space for cables to be connected. It wasn't enough for the Chromecast, but it did have an HDMI cable connected to the back panel. The other end of the cable is male and the Chromecast is male. This did the job and Chromecast works just fine.

Great! I mean it's just an adapter, not much else to say. Are you still reading? What do you want from me? Okay, I plug an HDMI cord into one end and a chromecast into the other end and stream movies and television shows, and it works great. There are you happy now... gosh so much pressure.

The coupler works just as expected. No issues so far.

But of course realize if you are trying to extend two long HDMI cables you may want to look into getting a booster instead. This product is really only meant for extending short HDMI cables.

I use it to plug my Chromecast into a HDMI male to DVI male cord to plug into my older monitor that only had DVI. Of course DVI does not carry audio so it is kind of useless, but that was an oversight on my part, no fault to the product.

I needed a HDMI coupler to connect two lengths of cable and found this. Its simple, small and does the job. The coupler fits and holds the cable ends firmly. There is no perceivable loss in audio or video quality. This will be used only for a one time connection. Monoprice is great for unique electronic needs.

I liked the chance to extend the cords without buying a very long cord. It is my opinion did not change the quality of the resolution or the speed.. it was perfect and very helpful, I recommend it for everyone.

I purchased this with a lot of doubt because I was concerned that the quality of the picture and sound would deteriorate a lot but, decided for the price I would check it out and thought that I could always purchase a longer cable later if needed. It works great and is as good as the single 30ft cable that I added on an additional 10 feet to make it fit my new layout which required 40 feet.
