There's a reason you see these on almost every modern AR.

Practically bombproof and locks up solid.

You will need a Troy sight adjustment tool for the HK front as a normal tool is too fat and will not fit between the HK hooks.

I have a Magpul MBUS polymer rear flip-up site and had bought a UTG metal front sight, but didn't like it at all. I actually bought the UTG set and Rear was too high for my purposes and the front was VERY difficult to adjust - just gave up on it and bought the Troy front sight. It is an impressive sight and matches perfectly with my Magpul MBUS flip up rear sight. I would going to buy the Magpul MBUS front sight, but was concerned how well the polymer would hold up with the heat near the gas block.

I'm glad I opted for the quality and functionality of the Troy. You DO get what you pay for.

I have used Troy Battlesights since my introduction to AR-15s. Every example I have ever owned has been well made, with exceptional fit and finish. Be aware, these sights are aluminum and may not be as robust as steel sights in the event of an impact. Originally, I paired this front sight with Troy's standard A1 style flip-up rear sight with dual apertures. Since this rear did not have elevation adjustments, I had to raise the front sight post to align my point of aim and point of impact. Unfortunately, raising the front sight post moved the leading edge from being in the center of the hooded housing. The advantage of having an HK hood style front sight is the ability to center in the rear aperture and having the front sight post automatically aligned. I ended up selling this front sight and trying out others.

Later, I found an intriguing sight combination (see attached pic). The HK folding front is paired with a KAC micro flip-up rear which DOES have elevation adjustment. Consequently, the weapon can be sighted in without adjustment to the front sight post. This sight combination is the fastest and most intuitive design I have ever used, including A2. Highly recommended.

SEE UPDATE BELOW: Cannot confirm authenticity/ has no markings. This came in plastic bag, with no literature or corporate packaging. There's no laser etched markings on it, and you wouldn't know what brand it was if it wasn't for the headline on the seller's page. The construction appears good, and it functions well. The anodizing is dark and even, but the absence of markings makes me suspect that it might be a forgery.

UPDATE, 2-15-15:
The original I purchased from an Amazon Reseller was clearly a fake. It did not come in a commercial blister package, or have any markings. The lock was of a different type than the one that is on the replacement. Amazon allowed me to return the fake, which was damaged by my attempts to change the sight post elevation. I used the refunded money to buy a new one, also from Amazon, which appears to be the genuine article. There are several differences which are as follows:
1) Sight base itself is attached or removed with a slotted screwdriver, not an allen screw, like the forgery had.
2) Finish is dark, even matte, not at all glossy or shinny.
3) A rather stout spring and a push-button lock hold the sight in the up position. It does not spring-up when the button is pushed
4) It has laser markings on the top/front face, as well as on the bottom. The forgery had no markings at all.
5) The sight post has a detent pin, like on an AR, and it also has a cutaway around the detent to allow you to adjust it with a bullet nose, but you may need to buy the TROY sight adjustment tool to adjust it easily, since most AR front sight tools do not appear to work, as they are too wide.
6) Sight picture with my MaTech BUIS is EXCELLENT.

So far, I rate the REAL sight at five stars, but I will lower the rating overall to give others an idea of how to tell if the product they order is a fake. Four Stars for Amazon for allowing a fake to be sold in the first place.

As a newbie to the AR market, the resounding response about the best BUIS from other AR owners is Troy sights. It is almost like an industry standard based on the quality and notoriety. I like the HK style BUIS which I consider the poor man's Eotech...for real. I got use to shooting with these and I later got an Eotech. The transition was pretty easy as the 65 MOA circle (Eotech XPS2-2) sits right on the "circle" of the HK style sights. The build quality of these sights is impressive. Buyer be aware that these BUIS do not "spring" up but rather pushed into the up position...if that matters to you.

On a side note, mount these on the extreme ends of your rail (other accessories permitting) to increase you sight radius. Once sighted, I was able to hit an 8 inch iron target at 100 yards consistently using these sights.

Troy Industries claims these battle sights will handle the heat from being mounted on piston gas blocks. The circular shape also complements the rear ring apertures and many other optics, allowing for fast target acquisition.

The white text on the front does seem kind of distracting, but the entire sight and the retention system is made extremely well.

UPDATE: 20 MAR 2012
After using these sights for nearly 2 years, the sights are holding fine. My gas block is on the same plane as the railed upper receiver, and the gas block is from my Adams Arms piston conversion kit. The front sight handles the heat like a champ, although some residue/carbon does build up on the sight during normal use. It cleans off using CLP.
