Pyle used to be a good name in speakers. Now it appears it's just another crappy Chinese import brand. I bought these for my boat, and the price was certainly right, but the construction is terribly shoddy. Surprisingly, they sound OK.

I wasn't 10 minutes into the installation when the wiring terminal strip broke off one speaker. The wires going to the coil are the only thing holding it in place now. Not a good situation. Installing the 2nd speaker I handled it much more gingerly to avoid a repeat, but that one also fatigued with just a touch. I managed to install it without it breaking off completely, but just barely.

I expect I'll need to replace these next season, as a speedboat is a punishing application for cheap speakers. I'll spend more for a better pair next time around.

These speakers rock! Granted i do not have them on a car, i use them for an "ammo box" speaker box i built from instructables website, they are small but they sound great, i have them hooked up to a small amp.

I bought these speakers for a stereo pod I placed on my motorcycle.

I had to have a set of speakers that were small, waterproof and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

These speakers works great and have sufficient sound quality for their size and price.

I am very happy with these speakers and I would recommend these speakers to others that need small speakers that are waterproof and have a tight budget to work with.

These speakers are no worse than others in this price and size range. There is only so much one can get out of a 4-inch speaker in this class.

PROS:
* Self-contained, water-proof, includes protective grill cover
* Includes everything needed and a generous amount of wire.

CONS:
* Not much power, relatively low volume.
* Outer lip is considerably larger than the speaker
* It claims 15 ounce magnets, but I'd have to wonder if that's "troy ounce" because these speakers are fairly light.

I couldn't get as much volume out of this as say, the Boss 4", although both are in the same class of speaker and similar in price (the Boss however is a bare speaker). Like all other speakers I've tested in this category, too much volume or bass will easily cause rumbling... and it's pretty easy to reach "too much", even with low-wattage amps.

For hobbyist or outdoor use, this will probably do fine (although I might recommend the larger size 6" speaker if space permits). Hobbyists note that the outside lip is quite a bit larger than the speaker itself, so allow for size.

As speakers these are "just okay". The performance for price is as expected, but a shame the volume potential isn't any greater. With some added volume and reduced rumble-prone, this would be a nice speaker set. If they had the volume and performance of the Boss I'd have been quite pleased.

They received two stars only because they do actually work. However, these speakers are complete junk. They sound horrible, aren't nearly loud enough, and if turned up loud enough to hear they distort so bad I might as well be listening to static.

These are purely crap for sound quality. I didn't have high expectations and these didn't meet the low bar...

I would really only recommend these if your space constrained. Otherwise get some better 5.25" speakers.

Great price and appears to be of good quality and sound is okay. I am using it as an extension speaker for my VHF speaker and installed it in the cockpit of my sailboat. The sound quality is good. I would have given it 5 stars, but they include screws that rusted after a week! They need to look at supplying stainless screws instead.
