Product arrived on schedule. Initial quality appeared good. Only problem was the spacer(included)wasn't thick enough inside the mounting clamp to hold the the decoy upright on my bird house. I did however use a small piece of fuel line hose to compensate for thickness. I would buy from this seller again.

Beside this product being rather expensive for a piece of plastic probably molded by the hundreds, it also came with the advice that four were needed to attract a colony. I don't believe it, for one thing, for another if the company is sincere they should sell them in a four-pack.

This is the second set of purple martin decoys I've purchased from two different sources. This set is just as you see it: It is a mixture of dark blue and black in color. My other set is all black. Neither set has attracted any martins this year. The birds came to visit and flew around the houses, but never settled in. I'm hopeful next year that they will return and these will work. We'll see. they seem durable enough and mount on the metal martin houses without any difficulty.

Our martin house attracted no occupants in 2014, so this year I looked into actively attracting some birds. I put two decoys on perches attached to the lowest third of our house's pole, and within a few days at least two, maybe more of the rooms are housing purple martins. I've read that martins will nest for a two month period, approximately, so we hope to host more. I can't say what effect these decoys had, but the results were better with them than without.

I'm going to echo some criticisms from other reviewers: (1) The price is dear for what you get -- a molded piece of plastic -- and no one seems to be discounting them. (2) For that price, we should not be getting a flimsy plastic bracket with a screw that is way too short. I replaced mine with metal Home Depot brackets and screws, and while they work fine, it adds to the already too-high price tag. (3) They recommend that you display the decoys in groups of four -- two on each side of your purple martin house -- something you don't learn until the package arrives. If grouping them is important, why isn't that specified in the product description, and why aren't the decoys being sold in groups of four, or at least two? I bought three, and I'll let you know if they seem to work. (There's no way to really know, of course, unless you buy two houses and set up one with decoys and one without, and I'm not up for that.) I suspect that their principal function will be decorative -- and if so, that's fine. If they actually help in attracting tenants to the house, all the better.

I bought a couple and I had birds in no time. Not sure if the fake ones helped but I didn't even have to use them this year. They both blew off from strong winds on their own so didn't have to take them down, lol. Living on a lake can be kinda windy sometimes. :-)
