This is a great colander made in the USA. It has enough holes to drain food quickly and completely and sits high enough to keep the food out of the water with a slow draining sink (the lowest portion is ~1" up) The plastic is very durable (I drop things a lot) and easy to clean. It also has a very well designed lip that makes it easy to pour the contents where you want them (even into a much smaller container) while providing handles that keep you thumbs out of the steam. I am very happy with this and would recommend it without reservation.

This colander works like a charm for draining pasta or rinsing vegetables (my primary uses). It is made out of a very thick glossy plastic that feels durable and keeps things from sticking to it. There are convenient 'lips' around the edges that are perfect for grabbing. I've had this for over a year and it's the fanciest colander I've ever owned.

A super cute, sturdy colander!

The only problem is that the holes are not on the small side, so you will not be able to drain spaghetti or any similar pasta into this colander.

Otherwise, the 3-1/2 quart choice is a good size for a family, is made of a durable plastic, and is a nice looking kitchen gadget. The red is more of a tomato red than a fire engine red.

This was a definite upgrade for me from my flimsy old clear colander. Sure that lasted me a long while but I hated the sight of it. My use is primarily for rinsing fruits and veggies. It's a nice heavy weight and very attractive design. It's not unsightly to leave this out on the counter or to use outdoors in the summer. The three and a half size is good for both smaller and larger jobs. I don't want to clutter up my limited space by having two colanders where one can do it all.

This is a typical colander, although it is a thicker plastic than most. Made in the USA. What I really like, and the reason I bought this one, is that the base is "taller" than most colanders...so when you rinse something, and your sink decides to not drain as fast as you'd like...the water that might have risen up doesn't go into the colander. My other colanders have a base that is about 1/4' high..this one is about an inch. A small factor, but I like that. It is easy to hold. Fits in the top of my dishwasher.

No matter what the manufacturer says, some things will slip through the holes.

I'm in college and my boyfriend and I have started a tradition of making Mac n' Cheese on Sundays for dinner. I bought this colander because my last one was crap, and I thought it would work perfectly. Sadly, as I was shaking water out of the macaroni noodles, quite a few slipped right out and into the sink.

Other than minor pasta slippage, this colander seems to be great! Lightweight, sturdy, easily fits in a sink, easy to wash, and a great color!

Is it crazy to love a colander? The design is just what I was looking for, but didn't know if it'd work till it got here: the base is big enough to fit over my sink's drain. I've had colanders in the past that would sit unevenly over the drain so I had to move them out of the way. The size is perhaps bigger than I'll ever need, but it's good to have the room in case I do need it someday. The holes are generous so water drains fast, but they might be a tad too big for draining spaghetti (for me, that's not a problem because I cook my pasta in a Fasta Pasta gizmo that goes in the microwave and has its own drain holes).

Construction is solid and so is the footing so there's no worry about it being knocked over. I'm very glad there are drain holes on the bottom. I made the mistake once of buying a colander that collapses for storage. It had no holes on the bottom (just on the sides) which made it rather useless. I tossed it out

The color is perky and pretty.

I wasn't expecting this colander to be so tough! It's not flimsy and doesn't flex under the weight of hot water and whatever is being strained through. The base is thick and hard to tip over. The fact that it's made in USA and from recycled materials couldn't be any better. I recommend this item!
