We had purchased a feeder from a local shop about 3 years ago and it worked very well even though the jelly
divits were shallow. We could not put very much jelly in each divit and the Orioles would clean it out in less than 3 hours.
This feed is SSOO much better in that the areas that hold the jelly are deep and large.
We thank you and so will the Orioles that come to visit us.

There a good product we had a lot of birds use it but it's only draw back is that it attracts bees lots and lots of bees cause there after the juice and they get down inside of the feeder though the holes and drown. You need to put some kind of bee covers over the holes. William.

Dear Owners of this Feeder,

Please consider including a "Bee Guard" for this fantastic feeder! If it could keep the bees out, I would give it 5-stars as the Orioles were SO HAPPY on this feeder! They were eating chopped fruit, marmalade, as well as the nectar. I stumbled between given it a 3-star and a 2-star, but since I cannot use the feeder and must return it, I must give it a 2 star.

Without a bee guard it is useless.

Hundreds of bees and wasps have lost their lives by crawling into the nectar reservoir. They are unable to crawl out.

I am so sad, as the Orioles were flocking to the feeder regularly for a few days, FINALLY! Was so excited.

But now I must return the feeder :(

You can put nectar in the bottom, half an orange on top, grape jelly, and or meal worms in the little bowls on the top. There is an ant moat to keep the ants out of the nectar. My Baltimore Orioles love this feeder. and one of the females will actually tap on my window if I am late restocking the feeder. It is easy to clean, and dishwasher safe! Out of all the oriole feeders I looked at, this one is the best.

I have mixed feelings about this feeder.

Pros: The Orioles (these are, I believe, Hooded Orioles) really like it. They slurp up the jelly easily, we even had a parent bird dripping jelly into a baby Oriole's beak!

Cons: The bees love it. (These could be wasps, I don't know how to tell the difference.) Yesterday morning I went to refill this feeder, and there were 17 dead bees in the reservoir!

Does anyone make a bee guard for this model? If so, please reply with a comment. I would like to keep using this, but not if I can't keep most of the bees/wasps from getting trapped in the reservoir.

I love this oriole feeder. It has pockets on the surface for jelly and/or worms and a clear nectar tank that lets you and the orioles know when more nectar is needed. It has no magic so that I have yet to see an oriole on it! Frankly, none have visited my backyard in thirty years! I am told they do pass by my area during migration. Still the feeder does its job well!
