when i first got this, i first tried it on some extra wire i had laying around. I found it easier to apply the paste onto my finger and rub it on the connection. It smells like solid waste, but it's anything but that. It's changed my method of soldering forever. I will never use solder and soldering guns again. just apply the paste, roast it for a couple seconds with a blow torch, and you have yourself a neatly soldered connection.

Husband got this to work well a few months ago, but couldn't get it to work last time we tried to solder charms on a bracelet. The paste just kept running off. He's soldered many things over the years, but this paste frustrated him. Ended up taking our bracelets to a jeweler. Disappointed.

I make coin jewelry and find this item to be Excellent. A strong solder bond and smooth flow. Just the right mix of solder and flux. Just avoid excessive heat for this will cause separation of mix.

Watch out ! ... I bought this stuff from a local source ... worked great on the first couple of connections, then when I pushed the plunger to get some paste out for the next connection.... Nothing ! ... But ! ... Air ! .... the plunger went from barely moved from full to damn near rock bottom without another spec of paste coming out ... In the end, I was able to force enough out to complete the 8 connections the project I was working on required, but that tube was shipped almost completely empty ...

I went back to the store I got it from and got a refund. Even so, I'm glad I only paid half of what the stuff costs here

I normally buy this from another source because it costs less, but it works fine with my iron the melt temps are clearly labeled. If your iron only goes to 300 degrees then this is not for you... simple and not at all misleading.
