Smead makes excellent office products and this is no exception. The plastic is sturdy and roomy. I bought this because I work in a library and some medical books come with flash card sheets so to keep them together, I thought this product would fit the bill perfectly and it did! I'm surprised that it's not that easy to find this in brick and mortar stores but I'm sure glad Amazon has it. If you want different colors, that it also available.

These are a thicker plastic than some. I use them when I need the files lateral. I use the Smead 89501 Campus.org Poly Color Envelopes - 5 Pack, Assorted Colorswhen I need the upright ones that i use in my backpack or briefcase.

I abhor packing away anything to where it cannot be seen/quickly found - "out of sight, out of mind". So I love clear boxes and definitely love clear folders. Have been using this style for years, but needed more. These are perfect. The only thing they don't have like my old folders is an internal label pocket, but I was in a hurry and this was what we needed.

Maybe I'm just really rough on my school belongings, but these really aren't as durable as I expected them to be. I love them and they worked great in the short term when I first started carrying lots of notes and flash cards in them, but they got completely wrecked in my backpack after less than a full semester of use. The plastic started to tear and rip off in weird chunky bits around the corners and edges (not surprising, since those parts take more of a beating than other parts).

So now I don't use them for carrying school papers around; I use them to sort categories of paper files. I write the name of each category on the front flap in sharpie or a paint pen, and then put them in a labeled bankers box in the closet. For this, they work great, but I think I'll need something a little more hardcore for next semester's papers and notecards.

Works very well but for one exception. If you stack them flat, they don't stay put. As long as you are putting them in the cabinet, or you have a way to stand them up when you have several on your desk they are durable and see-through. If you have several files on your desk at a time and wish to stack them flat, again, they are slippery enough that they slide off.

They are sturdy and they can hold A LOT of paper each. String hasn't come off in any of them. This isn't meant for bigger formats of paper. Letter size and maybe slightly bigger will all fit perfectly.

As a kindergarten teacher, I am always on a tight budget for classroom supplies. I make a lot of my own games and math/reading centers, many of which have a lot of pieces to keep together. These poly envelopes hold a lot of things and hold up much longer than manila envelopes or folders. I love that they are clear so that I can see exactly what's inside. I don't know why the big box office supply stores charge so much for them, but I love that Amazon has them for such a good price!

These came in quickly and it surprised me. I was expecting something a little different. It is big enough for what I needed, though I was expecting the bottom to be slightly stronger. Overall it has been holding well considering how much I stuff them and how heavy all the paper and legal pads can make it.
