I was hesitant to buy these because of the high price tag, but I am glad that I did. The stairs are lightweight, fold up very small, and are very sturdy. Just to be safe I also bought a bicycle cable lock to lock the stars to my bumper and prevent them from wandering off.

I have a house with a 31 inch drop off to where we put the doggy door. I needed something that would fold out and something I could fold back up for when I mow the lawn or need to get anything by it. This is perfect! Now, the stairs are pretty narrow so the dogs were pretty scared at first. After a day at my parents, getting used to the flaps, they came back and were in and out of our door and up and down the stairs. It's pretty slippery in the snow but they still use it. The glow in the dark part of it is cheap, they are just stickers on the side and they are already pealing off.

When you get this, you can remove the top brackets and make it so that the top stair is the top level instead of the brackets being at the top. It was an easy change and has instructions for it.

I highly recommend this for anyone that needs a good idea for stairs leading up to a dog door. I think you can add steps to it as well. I used this on our 31 inch drop off, about 3 or 4 inches down so at about 27 inches and on a slope so an extra step might be useful.

We have a sunlight truck popup camper..My husband made wood steps that were o.k. unless the ground was uneven, or it rained and they got slick...I have alot of knee problems and recently had a complete knee replacement,so stepping up and down can some times be very awkward..I was so glad he found these steps and attached them to our camper..I feel so much more stable and the handle is a real bonus for me...

Easy install- took less than 30 minute including prep. Solid feel. No loose parts.
If you are buying, get yourself a solid combination lock like the master brass lock. Drill one of the pin hole to fit the padlock tightly and use it to lock the steps as it can be easily removed if left on pins alone.
Installation has the option of you leaving the steps hanging while underway. I would not do that unless you use a strap to pull it up against the bumper.

Great stuff and we really like it

This thing is burly. We drove from Grand Canyon, Arizona to Deadhorse, Alaska with this hanging off the back of my truck. It has seen thousands of off-road miles and tens of thousands of road miles.

American made and American quality.

My two year old boy climbs in and out of my PopTop with ease and safety now. Before there was a four foot drop out the back door. Now the stairs give a buffer for my boy to crawl in and out.

Bottom line: this is a five star product.

Remember when manufacturers thought about quality? Though only a set of camper steps, these guys take you back to those days. The steps are nice, well made, and Torklift sends you optional hardware for both lag screw mounting and bolting on. Good welds, easy to install--even provided a "fishing" tool to pull the bolt through the bumper (for those of us with boxed bumpers that also hold the sewer hose). Huge difference from the old swing down step that we had. Gave them a 4 star due to packaging...just dumped into a box with no padding. The hardware bag rubbed a scuff into the step....
