This Shell Catcher is being used on a Benelli Super Sport. Some forums I reviewed elsewhere indicated that slight modifications would be necessary. This is NOT the case. The catcher simply needs to be mounted about 1/8" lower than stated in the general instructions. If this is done, it works great! Have fired about 500 rounds flawless rounds so far. Love it!

My best advice: Clean up the sharp bits BEFORE you put the thing on.

It stops you from having to bend down and pick up your hulls and promotes harmony by not bouncing hulls off the guy next to you. The only drawback is that it has sharp edges that catch your fingers when you hit the carrier release button. This wouldn't be an issue with something like a Remington 1100 where the release is underneath. I'm sure it will be fine after I unmount it and round off the corners, but for fifteen plus bucks for one piece of stamped metal and a bent wire, you think they would knock down the sharp bits. On the plus side the double-sided tape it shipped with is unbelievably strong. If you need to take it off, their recommendation is to soak it in oil overnight.

Follow-up. After removing the barrel and forearm, I soaked the adhesive pad in oil, waited for half an hour, and manged to pry it off the receiver with a guitar pick. Scraping off the remaining bits of glue was a sludgy awful process. I then used a dremel to round off all of the Save-It's sharp corners and polish off the burs. I started to remount the bracket, but realized that with the forearm off, you could potentially mount it too far forward which would keep you from seating the forearm properly. After putting the gun back together and re-mounting it, it's fine and doesn't tear up my fingers anymore. Seriously though, fix the sharp edges before you put it on. Your fingers and gun case will thank you.

Bought this for my Beretta 391 Urika Optima Trap. Couple shots and the thing would go flying off with the double sided tape it comes with. I tried doing 2 strips of their tape, as the product comes with one attached and 3 extras; worthless! Absolutely worthless tape it comes with. So, had a bright idea. How's about those 3M picture hooks that have the double sided tape that holds tough but doesn't damage your wall when removing them? Works like a charm! Bought a refill of the large strips, I think 6 to a package, bada Bing bada boom. Hasn't went flying off once and I'm confident the finish on my expensive gun is protected. I've shot 6 rounds of trap with the Shell Catch and only had a hiccup within the first 4 or 5 rounds. Had to bend the wire down slightly but it's totally worth it. Catches the shells every time now. The only wear on the gun is along the ejection port where normal wear would be. I highly recommend this over a clip on shell catcher that will surely hurt the finish on your shotgun. Spend a bit more and protect your investment

I installed this shell catcher on a Beretta A-300 (12 gauge). Installation was a breeze and it performs perfectly. The catcher flips down easily if you need to shoot more than one round. Buy with confidence.

I installed the catcher in 10 minutes when received on Wednesday. My son shot 4 rounds (100 shots) on Sunday. This catcher caught every single one. I watched and it was easy to remove the spent shell and load another. I would buy again in a heartbeat.

It may not always catch the shell but it at least deflects it from hitting the guy next to you, very important for shooting trap at your club or ATA shooting as it is not cool to be pelting the guy next to you with empties.Other shell catchers such as the clip on style damage the bluing on your gun, this one does not damage the bluing on your shotgun.

Item works perfectly on my Beretta 391 Teknys and as a bonus it matches my nickel receiver. Easy to install and the 2 sided tape holds it very securely, even on the uneven surface my gun has. Out of 250 shells fired it has only failed to catch 1 shell which fell at my feet. Also very easy to "deactivate" by flipping down the wire for doubles. Loading a shell and working around it is also already second nature, just as easy as working any double gun, probably easier and faster. I was skeptical but I'm glad I purchased this one.

installed easily, sturdy metal construction. Fits the SX3 well and catches probably 99% of shells. Every so often an eject will get through. But then again, the SX3 has a VERY strong eject.
