It's very small. Fits perfectly where I wanted it to fit. It holds my laptop and speakers and a few books. School hasn't started, so let's see if it can hold up my fat textbooks. Either way it works nice and does what I wanted it for. Easy to put together. Took like 15-20 minutes and that's because I'm very slow with screw drivers. The pre drilled hole do seem a bit off, but that didn't bother me that much. Material is crappy, but fine for the price. I think if I got it wet, like put a cold glass of water on it, the white laminate might start to bulge up and look nasty. But I'm only using it as a book place. And I think I will eventually buy more to stack on top of one another and place inside my closet. Worth it for $20. I'll upload a pic of it.

I actually bought this for use in my kitchen on a corner counter that didn't have much use. My cabinets are very high and tall, difficult to use even when you're 5'7". I also wanted to get some of my often-used but bulky appliances off the countertops and out of the way when not in use, but easier to access than in a cupboard. This works perfectly. I was able to free up a couple of drawers by using a couple baskets with it to hold small items (I already had the baskets). Works great for me.

Funny that the box makes no mention that the laminate coating is only on one side. The box does say stackable, but I doubt that from two points of view.
1) the shelves are as thin as a whole wheat cracker with a similar appearance. They are in fact 1/2" thick but that is not adequate for the span. These shelves will sag under any pressure.
2) the shelves are not laminated on both sides, so if you stack more than two of them together, your friends will think you're a cheap moron when they see it.
If you're going to use ONE of these for light shoes, it's okay.
Total disclosure: I bought this at Lowe's and returned it right after I opened it. I needed to make a set of shelves 5 feet high exactly this width -- fast -- so I bought this. But fast and long-lasting rarely go together. This product is another example of that. Shame on ClosetMaid for at least not disclosing the one-sided laminate on the box!

I tried to leave a review before but they told me that it couldn't be accepted in its current form -- despite the fact that it followed the guidelines for reviews.
SHOULD they decide to let me leave a review this time, this product is NOT worth it. It arrived on-time, but broken to the point that it could not be used. I paid $13.29 for this product, and I would not recommend this product even for THAT price.
The picture I have included in my review shows the corners of the product and that they are damaged. After I took the picture, the corner of the front piece fell completely off. There is not a corner on that piece anymore. All in all, I would not recommend this product, it seems very cheaply made.
Had it been made better, it would not have broken the way that it did.
