This review is for someone like myself that needs a basic calculator, with basic functions, that is easy to hold with one hand while writing with the other. Small enough to put in a shirt pocket, with a readout that doesn't require a magnifying glass and buttons that have a tactile feel (that eliminate false or repetitive inputs).

Pros:
1. Large readout
2. Twelve digits!
3. Dual power; Solar/Battery
4. Easy one hand operation
5. Readable operation figure; Add,Subtract,Mult,etc.
6. Fits in shirt pocket
7. Has protective lid for storage
8. Tactile buttons
9. Cost $8 bucks

Cons:
1. Owners manual is typical of a cheap calculator
(but if your not sure how to operate something this basic, you should be counting using your two hands and both shoes removed)

For $8 bucks and change, they designed and built this one right.

This is an almost exact replica of a calculator my dad had in the 90's that he was SO upset that he dropped and broke. His favorite features are how reliable the calculator was and the solar power works so well.

These little guys last for years. And, I was so excited I was able to find this for my dad!

It's a canon. It's a calculator. It works very well. I'm glad I bought it. And it displays 12 characters which is great.
The only thing I would change is, the case opens from the left which would seem to mean it would be easier to open if you were a south paw.

Perfect size for a hand and I love the built on cover which helps keep it clean. The cover folds under it too. The numbers are big and very easy to read and the buttons are raised. I have several calculators that would have been fine but I wanted a smaller one that's solar just like this one. Now I can donate all my other calculators because this one is perfect in every way.
