This large mat came flat in about the most mangled box you could imagine, and was kind of thrown by the driver in disgust against the basement door. Fortunately, by its very nature, a reasonable quality floor mat is tough, and it suffered no damage. After a few days to flatten out completely I honestly haven't noticed it for six months - which for a chair mat, is a good thing: that means it's just lying unobtrusively on the floor, doing its not very exciting job - there is not much else to add.

Simple products which do the job they were designed for, at a fair price, deserve praise too - not everything has to be the latest smart phone to be a good combination of form and function.

You go, mat!

(Note added in proof: I looked at the product page a few times while writing this, and the price seemed to be fluctuating wildly. Finally I noticed what was fluctuating was the default seller - you still have the option of purchasing direct from Amazon for approximately the $45 I paid in July: just be careful you are getting the lowest price available. At more than double the price it's still a good mat, but no longer a great bargain!)

Yes, this is an obscenely expensive piece of plastic. There is no romance in a floor mat - it is a strictly functional object that we must put up with as part of our extravagant and care-free rolly chair-having lives. As floor mats go, this one seems bombproof. Made in the USA, super thick, and quite large. If you think this mat might be too large, maybe think again - get out the measuring tape. You might be surprised. This mat is big, but it's by no means excessive for a typical desk, I'd say.

Mine shipped rolled up, by the way. After 2 months of use, it is completely flattened out. Don't worry about how it looks when it arrives - it will flatten down over time.

Is it worth the money? I'd say you don't really have many other good choices in this product category, especially if you're in your chair 8+ hours a day.

The plastic the floor mat is made out of is very thick. It should easily stand up for a long time. Tip: set the mat out on a deck or some other outdoor area in the sun. It will heat up and flatten out nicely.

I received the mat and put it to good use. I had my old mat for many years and it finally got brittle and starting cracking up, so I ordered this replacement. I use it under my office chairs which has rollers on it and it rolls real well as did my old one. I have a thin rug that covers my vinyl floor tile and the mat is used over the rug, the only problem I have with not only this mat but other ones I've had in the past is that the mat will slide after a while while as I roll back and forth from my desk to my fax machine and printer and I wish they would make one that doesn't slide.

I read a lot of responses saying that the item shipped rolled up and the buyer had to return the item. I purchased it anyway and found that they shipped it to me flat in a long thin box. The size and quality are great and I've been using it ever since day one. The surface is textured so you won't roll off with the slightest movement. Definitely get this to protect your hard wood floor. After 1.5 years I started to notice deterioration around my seat which led me to this purchase.

Pros: The mat itself does a great job of protecting the floor. I have it on hardwood floor, it doesn't slip at all and I feel pretty good about it doing the job. So far, so good.

Cons: The packaging was abysmal to say the least. The box that it came in was literally open at the top - and since it was just left at my place, if anybody nearby had wanted it for themselves it would have been the easiest swipe ever. Thankfully that didn't happen, but still just very awful packaging. I get that it's an awkward thing to package, but figure it out...you are a company that sells a product, learn how to package it correctly.

It is bigger than I expected which is great. It covers the area of my hardwood floor perfectly. It was delivered fast. I gave it a 4 because it was folded in half in a big box. This made it not lay flat when I put it on the floor. I also couldn't tell which side goes on the floor because both sides are made the same. I am glad it is flat. It made it perfect for the hardwood and I do not have to worry about it moving. I decided to put the sticker side up. As you can see from the pics I had to flatten it out by putting books on all the places that was humped up. I left the books on there for 2 full days. When I did take them off the mat layed flat. It did not move nor slide. It was worth it. My chair rolls over the mat great and the piece that fits under the desk is needed bc that is where I was having a lot of hardwood damage from the wheels on my chair. Now it is covered from the mat. I love the mat. I would recommend it. Just be ready to lay something on it to flatten it out.

Great floor mat for hardwood floors under a rolling office chair. It came wonderfully packaged flat so there was no curling. I like that I can still see the hardwood floor under the thick, sturdy mat.

The piece that goes under the desk was too wide so I used scissors to trim a considerable portion off each side. It took quite a bit of muscle, but did not hurt my scissors at all and now the mat fits under my desk.
