Apparently this item is in short supply-even Uniden's site is only offering it up at present as a refurbished item.
Why is the seller being reviewed instead of the item? The seller can ask whatever price he/she thinks someone else is willing to pay. I admit that perhaps Amazon's vetting of merchant partners needs tightening up a bit, but why make public your complaints about THAT in the reviews section? This is in fact an excellent product that is being impugned by the misguided attempts of a few shoppers to avenge themselves on a merchant that they feel is taking advantage of the article's scarcity.

It's really getting quite tiresome to wade through the flotsam of blahblahblah that one encounters on Amazon.com
when trying to glean enough information to make a sound purchasing decision. These folks should stay on their social networking sites and leave Amazon be.

That's MY two bits..I'll yank this "review" (and replace it with a proper one) when I see an intelligent buyer leave a comment about the item that's worth my time.

Addendum: It appears that these are trickling into the inventories of several online retailers. Buy one..you'll most likely be pleased with it. I am. And thanks to whoever it was that neg'd my review. It's always deeply satisfying to have someone prove your point, without the least expenditure on your part.

I have been looking for a phone for my elderly parents. This one works perfectly for them, and I like it so much that I decided to get one for myself. I bought mine at Walmart for $75! It offers three different tones.......one which is designed for hearing aide wearers! I couldn't be more satisfied!! Best phone ever!
