Saved me hours of labor time

I use this on my zero turn riding lawn mower. My mower is a 2001 engine and I have taken the carb apart before and cleaned it when the float bowel began to stick with probably stuff being sucked in past the filter and it took a long time to complete the project.

Years have passed and it started to stick again. When the float in the bowel fails to rise, the gas keeps coming into the engine and flooding it.

This device allows me to save a few hours of my labor and still mow the lawn with the mower and turn off the engine and then immediately turn off the gas to prevent gas wasting and flooding the engine. I then simply turn this lever back on before restarting and choking the engine when it is cold the next few days when the lawn needs to be cut.

This rig works for me...

Good Quality and as-described

I purchased this for my 1971 Triumph TR6 as a shut off valve upstream from the fuel filter. Now I can change the filter without spilling petrol everywhere! It fits the 5/16" hose line perfectly and has a nice solid, smooth action when turning the valve. I plan on ordering another one for a different vehicle. Highly recommended.

Won't Flow Fuel Like a True 5/16" Valve

I bought this because I wanted a 5/16" shutoff valve. I don't doubt that a 5/16" fuel line will fit on it, but the inner wall of the barb is so thick I'm sure this won't flow any better than a 1/4" valve. I measured the inside with a dial caliper and the ID is only .19 inches. Other components of my fuel system are also stated and 5/16" and have an ID of .25". It appears to be a well built valve and I received it in a timely manner, but it won't flow the same as a true 5/16" valve. Wasted my time and money with this purchase. Found a different valve online with posted specs of 5.92MM / 0.233" all the way through the valve.

Fuel Shut-Off Valve 5/16 in.

This shut off valve is just what the doctor ordered. It fits perfectly in the tight space between the main fuel valve and the carburetor on my Honda 450 ATV. This valve is rugged and replaces the $100 OEM valve that is supposed to shut off the fuel but doesn't for a fraction of the cost. If you're doing carb work or have a leaky carb and need to shut off the fuel or just want to shut off the fuel for an extended period, this is the ticket.

My fuel system in order of flow, is tank, then filter then fuel pump then carburetors. With ethanol in fuel I wanted to be able to change the filter regularly. I was tired of fuel spilling all over the place. I put this valve between the fuel tank and fuel filter, now I simply turn the valve to off, unscrew the clamps and replace the filter, no mess plus increased safety.
