Turmeric root contains beneficial compounds called curcuminiods. These compounds are what you buy turmeric in this form to get. You can also buy ground turmeric root as a spice for chicken dishes.

When I first started buying this brand about two years ago, it was 'standardized' to insure that the active curcuminiods were at 95% in each tablet. Sadly, this is no longer the case. This brand now just lists 'turmeric root' as it's active ingredient, and you have no idea how much of the curcuminiods, if any, you are getting. I noticed this because I still had the old bottle when I purchased a new one. The bottles look identical, except for the required 'Supplemental Facts' label. I'm glad I checked it.

I switched to a differnt brand (Natures Way), that guarantees that by adding extract to the root powder that the amount of the active ingredient in each tablet will measure 95%. It's more expensive than this brand, but if I just want ground up turmeric roots for cooking, I'll buy a bag by the pound from the local Indian store.

When I bought this product it claimed to be 500 mg standardized turmeric extract. It is not. It is actually 50 mg standardized extract and then 450 mg turmeric powder--the same powder you buy in a grocery aisle.

I suffer from acid reflux, and during my never-ending search for medicinal relief I decided to try out several non-traditional treatments. So, on the advice of a random website, I purchased slippery elm bark, marshmallow root, licorice root, and turmeric capsules. The first three choices did absolutely nothing for my heartburn problems. They might be useful for other things (I'm told slippery elm bark is good for helping with stomach viruses), but they just didn't do anything for my specific problem.

The turmeric capsules, though, are useful. They don't help reduce acid that's already in my stomach, but if I take them with a food that normally gives me heartburn, I don't get the heartburn! I even tested these out with my favorite chili recipe (something that normally gives me terrible heartburn even with the Prilosec I normally take). I took one turmeric capsule with every bowl of chili I ate, and I never got any heartburn! It works on other foods too. Overall, I've found that the best treatment for me is to take a daily Prilosec in the morning and a turmeric capsule with heartburn-inducing foods. This is the combination that works best for me, it seems. Anyway, if you are having a similar problem with heartburn or acid reflux, you might want to give the turmeric a try.

it came in the mail really fast, the capsules are not too big and they're easy to swallow. They really just contain the spice, which makes it nice and fast for those of us who might not have a lot of time to get the "real thing" but still need the benefits.
These tumeric capsules do not carry any strong odor, like it might happen in some cases, they are fairly fast to digest without any residue back taste and they will give the needed/and or desired effect.
Tumeric does have several functions, of course, it's good to research it before taking it, but I can safely say I will buy this product again, it met all of my expectations.

The first Turmeric product I used was a Jarrow brand, and it helped my fibromyalgia pain a lot. This was the second one I tried, and I didn't see much of a difference. Afterwards I used another version of Jarrow Turmeric and I didn't see any difference then, either, so maybe I'm just weird. Either way, this Turmeric never did anything negative, and maybe it helped and I just didn't know it.

For most people (myself included), staying healthy and keeping a healthy immune system is of the utmost importance. So as I have read many articles on the internet regarding the many health benefits of Tumeric, I decided to try the Spring Valley Tumeric out for myself. Upon shopping last month, I found this wonder supplement in a local store and picked it up to give it a try. Now, I have taken this for 30 days, what I will say is that I have more energy, and feel wonderful. Is it the Tumeric? Can't say for 100 percent surety, however, I did go online again and Googled this: benefits of Tumeric and found many articles that state 10 or more huge benefits from taking this supplement. The one that I benefited most from is the WebMd site, this is a very trusted and helpful site. On the WebMd site, they explained the uses of Tumeric and benefits of this wonderful supplement. They explain that Tumeric is actually a food and it is from the popular seasoning called Curry that is used in Indian cooking. Interesting to know that, I think.

As for my dosage, I make sure to take 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening (each one I take just before a meal). By the way, I also cook with ground Tumeric (I add 3/4 tablespoon to my chicken gravy, and chicken soups etc). This adds great flavor to the dish and adds nutrition. Also, Amazon sells Tumeric powder in large bags, I bought a large bag about 6 months ago and I am still using it for my cooking!

If you want what I call the Swiss Army Knife of Supplements, especially for arthritis, inflammation, headaches, liver and gallbladder, and more, this is the supplement for you! Highly recommend this one!
