This cover is awesome. I bought my feather bed topper and the cover at the same time, so I have no clue if the featherbed itself leaks feathers since this cover seals it all in. Its like a heavy duty pillowcase for the featherbed and it's a great material, soft and crisp like a bedsheet. I place my fitted sheet over the mattress and the featherbed together although if anyone wanted to sleep directly on the featherbed, the cover is just like a sheet so its comfortable to use as such as well. I fluff the featherbed often, and it never loses its position or place inside the cover. My room is feather free and the cover is super easy to wash. Excellent.

This is a very well made feather bed cover. I bought it to cover a 3" memory foam mattress topper. It was slightly small for a 3" topper but would probably work great for a 2" topper. It was a struggle to get the topper in the cover so I don't think I will ever take it out to wash the cover. I'm sure if it was used for it's intended purpose it would work great. I am keeping it because I couldn't find anything else that would work for my memory foam that was even close to the quality of this cover.

I have a featherbed that had lots of pokey feathers. Once I inserted it into this, I couldn't feel them at all. the fabric is a sturdy polished chintz, like a giant pillow case. You might want to sew grosgrain ribbons to the inside corners and to the corners of your featherbed to keep it from shifting if that is an issue, as with a European duvet cover. That's also what they do for featherbed covers. Sometimes, the oldest, simplest solutions really do work the best. To fluff, just pick the whole think up and shake. For those wandering about weather to sleep in this, it's not really meant for that. I suggest either putting it under your sheets (if you have deep pocket sheets) or getting an extra muslin/percale duvet cover and slipping this inside. That way, you can pick the whole thing up and shake it every morning. That is how it would be used in Europe.

The Pacific Coast Feather Bed Cover is very good. It's soft, as described and I trust it to keep my expensive feather bed clean and lasting a long time. It gets three stars though, because once the feather bed is inside of it, it doesn't quite cover the queen bed. The feather bed on its own fully covered the queen, and the feather bed cover did too, but the feather bed cover should have been designed slightly over sized to allow for the height of the feather bed itself. Increased height has reduced the overall width, and there are about 2 inches of space left over on the edges of the bed that don't get their full coverage.
