Threw this boomerang and caught it on the first try!

Really easy to use (read directions first!). One issue that came up was its long range (20-30 yards .. 60-90 feet) which we needed to find a bigger space (since it got stuck in the trees). Other than the trees issue, though, the boomerang was PERFECT. I bought the scimitar (which is great for nighttime throwing), but love this one even more since it's very reliable once you figure out where the wind is coming from.

Hot: Flight is smooth and doesn't change, easy to throw, caught it on the first try!
Cool: Made of durable plastic (crashed into a tree a couple times and it's okay!), feels like a good weight not too heavy or too light
Not so hot: Long range makes it hard to throw in a small space

I admit I am far from a boomerang expert, so I am not going to compare this boomerang to other boomerangs. I purchased this product for a high school calculus project (demonstrating the real world applications of math, or in this case, airfoil design and gyroscopic precession). This boomerang is made of a sturdy plastic; its heft and weight is reassuring. I can't imagine this thing breaking under anything less than phenomenal stress. We threw it many times; it landed on grass, concrete, and even hit a metal sign in mid-flight, yet all it has are a few minor scratches and did not bend perceptibly. If you are not careful, you can very easily injure someone with this. Anyway, I would completely recommend this product because of its reliability, durability, and general awesomeness.

This is my first boomerang. I never threw one before.

I also purchased a "Mantis" boomerang from "Legacy Boomerangs" website which is supposed to be better at round tripping.

I played w/ the Mantis until after a couple of hours I managed to have it return back. I was excited.

At one time the Mantis got stuck on the tree so I started using the Polypropylene Pro Boomerang. I actually love it more than the Mantis! :)
After getting used to it, I have a higher success rate to throw it and have it return.

Because it is a bit heavier than the Mantis, it works great when there is wind.

It is really fun. I totally recommend it. It works after you get a hang of it.

Be careful, it can hurt badly if it hits someone, so practice when there are no people around.

I got boomerangs for my son and I for Christmas. We went to a soccer field to practice and initially, we were pretty pathetic. After watching some confidence-building YouTube videos, we went back and what do you know? we were less pathetic. By the fourth time out though, we were actually pretty good. We have yet to catch them on the return, but we're really getting close. This is a fun boomerang, watch the videos, practice, and be patient. The boomerang is well built and its easy to see if you're holding it right or not. Most of the effectiveness, and the fun you have will rely on polishing your technique.

Colorado Boomerangs make a good product. I have a couple. I purchased the polypropylene one to learn and practice with. It has been since I was a young man and Whamo company made one that I used a lot in the back farm fields. Took me awhile to get the proper wrist snap to get a good flight from this one. Instructions are imprinted on the 'rang. Took it to Mexico with my nephews so we could play with it on the beach. What a Blast! nice thing about the "plastic" one, we could toss it out over the waves and water and would not have to worry about it. After a little practice, I could almost get the boomerang to drop near my feet. Fun Times,,, get one and enjoy.

Company stated that as long as it was received in tact they were not responsible for it breaking as it is an object that you throw around.

Works pretty well and would recommend.

I got this boomerang for my son, age 11. He read the reviews and liked the looks of it. It was great at first: it really did come back, he was able to catch it, and when it inevitably ended up in a tree, the bright orange color was easy to spot for rescue. However, my son was able to use it about 3 days and then one of the ends chipped off. I'm looking for a kid friendly boomerang that can handle some impact without breaking, guess I'll check out the wooden ones.
