As far as I can tell, these are the best compression stockings made--and I had to do a LOT of research. Even so, they didn't fit; blame for that, however, belongs at the door of orthopedists who are geniuses about bones but idiots about soft tissue. YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED A STOCKING THAT FITS. One that doesn't is virtually guaranteed to do more harm than good. That you shouldn't wear a stocking that's too small will be immediately obvious, but shorties always tend to be overlooked unless we're loud. I wound up phoning Truform for a consultation, and was advised that 1) "knee high" and "below the knee" are synonyms (good to know); 2) I needed a small SHORT (could not find on Amazon [again, shorties overlooked]); and 3) "firm"--i.e., 30-40, was WAY too tight for my situation. So I ordered a Small Short 20-30 with an open toe from a different supplier Truform recommended, and the difference was the difference between hurting more and hurting less. Therefore, insist that your doctor be specific. Don't let him or her just hand you a pair whose heel will come to your knee, whose top will come to your crotch and, and whose cost, even after your insurance pays its bit, will be twice what you'll pay at Amazon or the site Truform sent me to.

I recently had to start wearing compression hose for my varicose veins. The doctor had me order some expensive thigh highs and full panty hose. Both work well but are uncomfortable around the back of my knees. My main pain area is on the back of my calf, so I thought I'd give these open toed compression socks a try. They work just as well, though I have to say the open toe is not very comfortable in socks and shoes. The ends roll when putting the socks on. Then they roll again when you try to put them into shoes. I had to use skin adhesive tape to hold them into place. You would think that open toed would help with the numbness you feel in shoes with your feet in a certain angle, but they are actually worse than the close toed versions. So since my purchase, I wear them mainly at the house when I'm too lazy to try and wrangle on the thigh highs or hose. They provide enough support that I don't need the full hose to remedy the pain of the calf varicose.

Excellent compression and comfortable to wear. It is a bit of a challenge to put on if you don't use the inside out method. Flip the stocking inside out. Roll the toe of the stocking just past the seam inward. Starting with the toe of the stocking flipped inward, pull over your toes until in the desired position. With the heel part of the stocking facing downward, take the top part of the stocking and pull it over your foot and over the calf. It won't be an easy pull like with a regular tube sock, so work it upward in increments being sure to have the heel part of the stocking downward and aligned with the heel of your foot. Adjust as needed. Powder or a silk like stocking will help make putting this compression stocking on a little easier.

These stocking are as described. They are opaque NOT microfiber opaque. I ordered according to the size chart. I am 5'7" and according to their size chart I should order a large. The stockings did bunch up behind my knees. Unless your weight necessitates a larger size, I would order one down from what is suggested on their size chart.

These fit very well and the open toe design was exactly what I wanted. It is best to ensure you are purchasing the correct size to obtain the optimum support. I wore these on roundtrip flights from Oahu to North Carolina. They were extremely comfortable and having the open toe feature allowed me to wear these with flip flops, my preferred traveling footwear. I would highly recommend these.

I have tried many brands, Allegro, Juzo and Jobst, ranging from $25 to $75. None of them have ever fit correctly. Even though I am 6'1" tall with a 34" inseam, even the medium sizes were so long I was forced to trim all three with scissors. I was measured by a very competent licensed physical therapist with 20 years of experience -- twice -- so I know I was purchasing the correct size but they were always too long.

These Truform fit perfectly. Search the web for Truform's sizing guide before purchasing. These tend to be sized a little on the small side but not much; better a little too small than too large. A little smaller means better compression. These have fewer seams to come undone. I had a $70 pair ruined after only 4 months due to a seam coming undone.

The knit of these is very dense/fine. I have developed friction wounds on the inside of my ankle caused by the friction of compression stockings so the density of the knit is important.

These are priced very fairly. I have purchased stockings costing $65 and $70 and have learned that price does not equate to greater comfort or quality. All the other popular brands are sold through medical supply houses and they are always priced identically everywhere -- to the dollar -- so something stinks, somehow those major brands are price protected.

Amazon Prime delivery was super-fast in 2 days with Sunday delivery. Seriously.

I will continue to purchase these Truform stockings exclusively.
