I have one of the older ones but it is ALL world-class banjo, very solid, excellent intonation, excellent action. The strings are a tiny bit wider at the neck and much wider at the bridge than most six-strings, which helps my fingerpicking. BTW, six-string banjos are not "banjitars," they are not "git-jo's," they are not any kind of compromise (well, maybe the $150 ones are). They're a legitimate century-old instrument that was used in jazz as long as banjos were used in jazz, and long before Bluegrass was invented.

Nowadays, they're used more in other styles, but they're still banjos. Strumming with a flatpick doesn't work - they have too much sustain. Flatpicking individual notes like a lead guitar player or Irish banjo player works great. Fingerpicking works great. That's 99% of what I do with it. BTW, this is my third six-string banjo, because I'm used to professional guitar necks, and my 5-strings have great necks, but I had to go pretty far up the food chain to get a 6-string banjo with a truly professional neck. Nowadays, I suppose the Boston B-6 would have a comparable feel, but that wasn't available when I first got my hands on one of these -

This is an absolutely beautiful instrument!! I have been playing guitar for over 30 years, and 5 string banjo for the last 2 years, and this instrument brings the awesome tone of a banjo to the chords and fingering of a guitar. You can't really play it like a conventional guitar, but if you want to play some sweet bluegrass, blues, or dixieland tunes, you will love this banjo!! The case is also sturdy and well made, and protects the banjo very well. I highly recommend!!
