Steamed vegetable cooker's must have

My wife and I cook steamed vegetable for breakfast every morning all the year around for last ten years.
We have used regular frying pan with a tight lid so that the steam from liquid of vegetable cook eggs,
some meat, mushrooms and many others. But it used to take a long time and it was also difficult to avoid
overcooking(the result is charred onion, broccoli,bean, etc). My wife saw this product in a Japanese
department store in Tokyo, and bought a small size version. We have tested a few times and found the
result amazing. No overcooking, and it is easy to control the result. So we ordered a larger sized pan
and every morning since then, we have been using this. Here is our typical recipe using microwave oven.
First step: sliced onion, sliced mushroom,sugar pea,sliced carrot, and other hard vegetable
cook it for 5 minutes.
Second step: On the top of the still steamy hot pan, place broccoli, cabbage, spinach, bean sprout,
2 eggs, and some meat(ham, chicken left over, or sausage)
Close the lid and cook for another 5 minutes
This is for two persons.
For one person, the small size pan should be enough.
Enjoy healthy food without using oil.

Soggy food

I use a $20 bamboo steamer and vegetables come out cooked but crunchy. With the Lekue, even with reduced time, the vegetables are soggy and not appealing. I am sorry that I purchased it and would advise against purchase by anyone else.

Well made and very useful

I microwave vegetables almost every night and bought this because I've had some concern about certain plastics leaching harmful ingredients, and I don't like glass because it's heavy and there's always the fear of breakage. This product was rated very highly by a cooking organization so I bought one and have been pleasantly surprised at how well it works. The odd shape allows the food to be evenly cooked, it's safe, easily cleaned, and seems to be holding up well after many months of continual use. It lost one star because I think it's overpriced.

Works Well and is Large Enough to Accommodate Family-Sized Portions

I tried this device in both the microwave and the oven (at 350 degrees), and got excellent results. I cooked vegetables and seafood (no additional liquid needed) on separate occasions, and the taste was excellent and the cooking time was short both times.

Cleanup even with the separate tray was easy. The tool is worth it for quick cooking tasks.

Great for veggies

Haven't really tried it for many other foods, but does a very nice job on vegetables (bean, broccoli, asparagus). Just be VERY careful when opening - best to let rest for few minutes to let steam dissipate.

No risk cooking

This system is designed to eliminate chemical transfers from plastic products into the human body. As such, the Leque system is simply a steamer in silacon and therefore can resist high temperatures without melting. Thus far I have only used it in my microwave. I like what it does with eggs and vegetables....you'll need their cookbook ($20) to get a better feel about how to use it and with experimenting it has become a kitchen accessory that I'm happy to report is invaluable and also easy to clean!

Quick Healthy Meals

I purchased this as a gift for my parents as they are needing to eat more healthy. I've been using my lekue for about a year now. Holds up great and greatly reduces cooking times and elbow grease cleaning up. My kids and I love to throw in a few chicken breasts and quartered potatoes then microwave for four minutes. Flip all the items over. Then toss in some asparagus or broccoli right on top of the chicken and potatoes. Cook for another minute or two depending.

Healthy meals in under 7 minutes from start to plating. Then a snap to clean. Everything washes right off the silicone. No brainer. No added oil or fats.
