I purchased Ridgid’s Model #R4513 - 10 inch heavy duty job-site type table saw. I purchased it for my small shop knowing I was not buying a commercial quality shop saw. I purchased this saw from another source for $499.00 in March 2014. It looks like the price has gone up or I caught a good sale. After almost 2 years of frequent service I’m very happy with my purchase. If you decide to get one there are a few things you should do to get the most out of your saw. Take a few minutes to Check alignment, tighten any loose bolts and lubricate the adjustment screws. On my new saw the rip fence was skewed a little. You can easily correct this problem by loosening the four screws next to the fence lock. Also you can correct the with width indicator by loosening the two screws on the indicator window. You can easily readjust this when you make blade changes too.
The table on this saw looks like a case aluminum alloy and is easy to care for. I do use a table preparation product once in a while to remove tree resin build up and keep the table slippery. But you don't have to deal with rusting of case iron here in the hot humid Florida climate.
The stand for this saw makes one person setup and storage easy.
I have been looking for an extension table that fits this saw to assist with ripping jobs. I was unable to find one so I designed and built my own using materials I had on hand. I choose some 1/2" Birch Plywood for the top surface because it can be aligned to the table slightly low. The saw table is slightly proud of the extension table to prevent lumber from catching the leading edge of the extension table. The extension table is supported on the saw end by a couple blocks bolted through the saw housing. The legs are a simple over center design and fold flat for easy storage. See the attached pictures for additional details.
