I'm a huge fan of using eraser pens, even more so with these Pentel retractable erasers. You feel like you have real control over what you're erasing (instead of making a guess with those huge standard block erasers and then end up erasing everything... I hate when that happens). The great thing about them is that you can apply pressure when using them and not have worry about it retracting back on it's own. It's very comfortable to hold on to and, of course, it erases very well. I bought this pack because I use about one a semester (yep, I write a lot...). For whatever reason on Amazon, the black colored pens are more expensive. =\ I suggest purchasing the other colors. I LOVE this product and highly recommend it!

These things are wonderful, and for the price, they are as cheap as the refills. They provide more accurate erasing than a rectangular prism shaped eraser, and fit in my pocket. I like the tactile feel of them, and underneath the rubber grip is a little piece of plastic that bends inward somewhat, preventing the eraser from being pushed back into the barrel (this was obvious on the old ones, the ZE20, I think, that didn't have rubber over this little feature, but the rubber grip is nice).

The only complaint I have is about the plastic pocket clip, which I tend to break. It doesn't break all the way loose, but where it does break allows it to rotate in a plane along the edge of the body of the eraser, which I find very annoying. On the other hand, on the most recent one, I removed the pocket clip entirely, and then I just use a mechanical pencil to click it out. Without the pocket clip (which moves down with the eraser itself), there's no need to retract the eraser more than a single click when not in use.

All-in-all, a great purchase, and I recommend it to anyone who uses pencils on a regular basis.

I have used these erasers for many years, and I am very pleased to say that Pentel has NOT changed the quality of them!

They ARE refillable, so you can keep the shell and reuse them.

They are not too crumbly, so you can manage the eraser crumbles and not get them all over your desk or the floor.
They retract, so you can close it and not damage the tip of it.
Pocket clip so it does not "disappear" into the depths of my purse or my computer bag.

TIP: start in small circles, and LIGHTLY begin erasing - if you do this, you can erase ANY LEAD down to the color of the original paper.

I keep one everywhere: my computer bag, my school pencil case, my purse, my desk, my living room, etc. Anywhere I have a pencil, I have one of these erasers.

My next purchase will be refills.

Highly recommended!

I use these all the time since the eraser on the back of my mechanical pencils always wear out. These are like the erasers that come on the pencil, but much longer. Unfortunately I can't find these in my local stores, so I order them off Amazon.

These rock. I've been using them for years alongside of my mechanical pencils (the erasers on mechanical pencils are pretty much a joke). Good quality "white"/engineering type eraser. Doesn't chew up paper and erases neatly. Now that I have a school aged kid using mechanical pencils, I was getting tired of them disappearing and having to buy more--so invested in a box. Enough for my little guy . . . and some to share!
