It is a 30 amp rated switch. Wire size is 10 guage that is rated for 30 amps. Continuous load for a 30 amp circut is 80% therefore 24 amps continuous any one trying to run more thru this should be using a larger switch or disconnect. This is exactly what it says it is and works excellent for it's intended use. I have been using these for year's as an electrical contractor. I hope any other reviews in hear from people who don't know what they are doing does not affect your decision on purchasing this product for it's intended use.

I purchased this switch to replace the small molded on-off switch on a 1-1/2 horsepower, 120V air compressor. That original switch lasted only about 4 months. The Leviton web site says: "HP Rating: 2HP-120V 2HP-240V-277V" so the switch should have no problem with my compressor. I installed it a few weeks ago, and it's been working fine. I expect it to last a long time.

It accurately turns my garage heater on and off. Its rated 30 Amps so if you need to turn something on and off and its less than 30 Amps then this is the ticket. The switch actuates with ease.
