Great shaker for musicians, but be advised, if you're going to let a young child play with this, it may not remain intact! I thought it was supposed to be "laser sealed" or something like that, but my 3 year old cracked it open by chucking it in 3 days time and teeny tiny beads went EVERYWHERE. Sigh. My mistake.

She was only 5 mo old when I purchased this egg shaker and as soon as I unwrapped it and gave it a shake she was interested in it. Currently the egg is too big for her to grab with one hand. I do believe this egg has helped her in the two handed grab. The size is perfect, no worries that she can swallow it and as soon as she gets a bit older it will easily fit in one hand. I am for sure buying another for my cousin baby shower that is coming up. The 'shake' sound this egg has is a very nice sound. I got a red one and I blue one and they are truly primary red and blue.

What can you say about a little plastic egg with sand in it. You shake and it makes noise. For $2 its a good buy, but you can always make your own by taking an empty water bottle and put some sand in it, or pebbles, or rice, whatever you want to give it a different sound.

AWESOME!! I've been searching for egg shakers like the ones we use in our music class so my son can "practice" at home. These are heavy duty. The ones I've found at the store seemed to have a thin shell. Between my kid and the dogs, those would have been done for in a short time. These are hard on the outside, shake beautifully and clack together musically.
