These work well at night, but you struggle to see during the day. Installed in the head light and back up lamp window, can bee seen for 1/2 mile plus at night, but almost not visible during the day. Check your local laws, as some states do not allow these to be mounted to cars. My state allows them mounted in the rear of the car, but not the front. They are highly directional, It help to have them pointed directly towards the passing cars. Wires were too short, so I was forced to splice in additional length. Good product for the cost if only for use at night.

My application isn't typical for this, i wanted to create a portable light which i could have just off frame, pointed at an actor or object, to imply that there's an emergency vehicle on the scene. A lot cheaper than getting an actual vehicle. But my notes i suppose would apply to typical use of this light as well.

The Design
It's 4 lights, and they are treated as 2, so the patterns you get affect two lights at a time. They attach with sticky tape which appears to be the good kind, just be sure to clean the mounting surface. The controller box has mounting holes and has all the controls.

Controls/Settings
on/off, flash all lights once, flash all 3 times, flash each pair twice, flash each pair 3 times. And now here's the best part and the reason i got this: you have a control dial to set how fast it repeats each of these settings, awesome! And it's not like it's just a few settings, you can really fine tune the speed of the cycles. This was crucial to me because if it were too slow, it would look odd, if it were too fast, the camera literally cannot see some cycles.

Brightness
OK, it's NOT a sun gun. It won't turn everyone's head on the block. They are brighter than you would expect from 4 small LEDs, but they don't have tons of power to them like bigger/more LED units. What i will say is that they throw enough light to get the desired reaction, if you're looking at the car, they completely look the part, if they are pointed at you, they'll get your attention from a short bit away, but if they're not pointed at you, i doubt you'd notice them. Completely what i was expecting for this size/price.

12v
another reason i chose these, i have plenty of 12v small battery packs and they power this thing for hours on end. Then again, pretty much all car accessories are 12v

I think this would be a great project, but when the LED kit arrived at my house, the battery was completely dead.
I am going to hook the LED system up to a 12 volt solar system, but the 12 volt battery in the product should have been working.

Surprisingly bright! I bought these for my motorcycle because I want a little extra safety for front and back (check with your local laws. I have two in the front and two in the back and they provide just enough to make sure people can see the bike without drawing undue attention or messing-up the chrome appearance of the motorcycle. They are virtually invisible when installed near something to conceal the wiring. I used just a touch of gorilla glue to make sure the adhesive stood up to heat and cold on exterior surface. The controller was installed in a rear saddle bag.

I'm using these with a wireless alarm system in our home for added visual notification and I am impressed as to how bright these little lights are and with the control box that you can select how the lights go off is as nice added feature! The price was great too! I would recommend this product to others. I could see where these would look cool inside a vehicle so long as they weren't in your direct line of sight. Like I said they are bright!

Lights similart to these are also available at Autozone. I bought a set from there as well, and they did not seem to be quite as bright as the ones I ordered from Amazon. They were easy to install, although the intructions were pretty vague and a novice would probably have trouble following them. They look great in my truck. I am pleased overall. The control module mounts are backwards in relation to the letter, unless you plan on mounting it on top of your dash, which would look silly.

I bought these from autozone with a idea they wouldnt last but I gave them a try anyway. I put them on my atv to be seen when I plow snow and they look and work great!! The strobes have a BRIGHT wig wag pattern to them that works out great for my atv. I plow in cold temps and the strobes have held up. I had them on the other day for 10 hours while plowing snow and they just kept on going strong. The strobes are very easy to hook up, just make sure you buy a toggle switch. These are a great alternative to buying the expensive ones. I highly reccommend this product.

Bought these for my 04 Crown Vic for display purposes only as i am building a show car. These couldn't have been better. Paid $16 at autozone and I LOVE These. I am 18 and not real auto techy but i installed these in 15 minutes which was mostly just moving my trunk carpet and unbolting my taillights plus reassembly. Stuck them in place after cleaning area and they went on great. Wires are kind of thin but as long as they are setting in place for a while they will be good.i put them in and loved the patterns it had. you can make em all flash at once, make them alternate 2 lights per flash, control the speed, make em flash once(Throb->Throb->Throb->) or you can do a 3 flash (Throb Throb->-> Throb Throb ->->). They come with a rinky dink tester box and push button which can be snipped and swapped with a toggle. Wires are pretty good length (didnt uncoil my box wires, just light wires and had plenty of room.) brightness is a 8.8/10. at night, I Will update at daylight. Overall, for $16 they are perfect. If you complain about these for the price, thats ridiculous. If i could give over a 5 Star Review, You bet your ass i would in a heartbeat. Amazing Job Pilot Automotive!
