These are 140# cold press. acid free, as well, but the description includes that. :) Envelope flap has a raw edge (looks rough-torn, rather than smooth, crisp edge). This may be unique to my set, as it's possible the die that cut them was just dull or something, but as all 50 are the same, I felt it would be fair to share. Personally, I like the rough edge, as it hints to the handmade card inside. Easy enough to cut a clean edge, if that's your preference.
I saw a review that said the cards they received weren't white. The ones I received were white. I would call them pure white, but when held up next to their envelope there is a barely discernible difference, with the card being a tiny hint less bright. I'd chalk that up to the surface texture.

They arrive as flat sheets, with a crease line impressed in the paper. Paint before or after folding, for whatever effect suits your project.
Mine came in different packaging from picture, as Strathmore has a habit of changing packaging regularly. Have no fear if the box looks a bit different!

These cards are fantastic for watercolor paint and pencil, and have a rougher surface than the Strathmore mixed media cards, which i also enjoy. I prefer the mixed media's smoother surface for a greeting card, but find it takes more effort to control water usage to prevent buckling.

After not sending out Holiday cards for the past few years, at the last minute I decided to print out some photos and send them for Christmas. But the problem became what kind of card stock to glue the photos to? I looked at various brands and textures of cards but nothing appealed to me... and the few I did like were either too expensive or couldn't be delivered on time. I had to make a decision and decided to take a chance on these watercolor cards. The Strathmore brand has never let me down for art paper so I went for it. I'm glad I did as the texture and thickness were very good quality. My inkjet printer took the cardstock easily and the printed words looked crisp and professional. The photos adhered nicely with a glue stick. And I liked the extra touch of the ragged edge on the back of the envelopes. I was extremely happy with the end result, got a lot of complements on how the cards looked and I will use the same stock again next time.

These cards are perfect for handmade greetings. I used stamps, glitter paint, permanent marker, and stickers to produce awesome, bleed free, quality and durable cards for my family. I learned to place little light weight object around the edges of the card when paint was drying so that it would dry flat. Also when the card is done, leave it closed overnight with something on top of it and in the morning it will be perfectly folded flat and professional looking.

I make 15 custom Christmas cards every year. Last year, I invested in 2 10-packs and decided I would just upgrade to have more and cover a few more years instead of buying another 10-pack. Great card and envelope combination. Watercolors, pens, ink, coffee, wine. You name it, these cards can hold it.

I decided to get these for some arts and crafts, however instead of buying usual set of greeting cards I did some watercolors, pencils and if you thread gently oils can be standing out my coworkers enjoyed the personal touch which made me feel great.

The description for these cards reads as follows:

White with Classic Embossed Frame
Use photos or artwork up to 4-x-6-inches
Cards measure measure 5-x-6-7/8-inches
Matching envelopes measure 5-1/4-x-7-1/4-inches

This is incorrect. The cards are NOT white, more a cream and they do not have an embossed frame.
The envelopes DO NOT MATCH as they are white as described.

The cards are a nice Strathmore cold press, 140# watercolor paper and I will use them. But I never would have ordered them if I knew the envelopes and cards did not match. It just does not look clean and professional, but then I am not a professional watercolorist.
