This is a very nice fan brush. Most of the fan brushes I've bought were flimsy little things that lasted for one maybe two uses. This particular brush seems to last and last. The only thing...I can't get it to work like Bob Ross does! LOL

I replaced some cheaper made brushes with this one.

Although Bob Ross products tend to be pricey, the products are of great quality. I'm sure a great artist could make due with lesser-expensive, lower-quality brushes, an inspiring amateur such as myself needs all the help I can get.

So far, Bob Ross brushes have lasted me almost a year and I paint about once a week. I've only seen a few bristles come loose. I use Bob Ross brush conditioner after each use and that helps hold their shape.

So the only con are the prices, but I think it's worth it due to the great quality. Happy painting!

I guess you can paint without a fan brush but there are so many easy strokes you can make with this brush. All instructions are in the Bob Ross books but I can say from experience painting the shimmer of landscapes in a lake or pond and making fir trees within seconds are just so 1-2-3 you can't go wrong. There are several sizes of fan brush but one will work on most strokes. Happy Painting in your "Little World" as Bob says.

I was disappointed to receive this brush simply rough-wrapped in plastic, no cap to protect the shape of the bristles or anything... and it made a difference. Having been crammed in the packaging, the bristles were out of shape, and I suppose that when I saw "China" inscribed on the handle, it said it all for me. The Bob Ross name and reputation is one of excellence and quality, and all this product represents is a cheap wannabe Bob Ross brush, definitely not quality made, in my opinion. I purchased (3) Bob Ross brushes at the same time, and I feel that I've only gotten my money's worth out of one of them. I truly believe that if Bob Ross was alive today, he would not stand for this shortcut-style, imitation approach that seems to have been taken with this product. It does a disservice to his name. I'll never buy another Bob Ross brush again, guaranteed. If you want REAL quality, go for an Escoda brush, they are far, far superior, and worth every penny paid for them. But you don't have to take my word for it...

The bigger Bob Ross brushes (1 inch, 2 inch, etc) are made in the USA but this one is made in China and the quality is not nearly as good. It's an OK fan brush but the quality is not up to par with other Bob Ross branded brushes.
