I purchased Seachem's Replenish, because I use RO water for my tank. I saw that Seachem also carries product named Equilibrium, that is also to bring back minerals that were taken out by the RO process. I contacted Seachem to ask them what the difference was between the two products. They answered me promptly (BTW: Seachem's customer services is excellent). They told me that they generally advise Replenish for the fish only tanks (as in unplanted) and Equilibrium for planted tanks. Since I have a planted tank, I switched to Equilibrium. The reaseon I give Replenish three stars only, is because I feel that if you have to more or less the same products, you should make clear on the label which product is advised for which type of tank. Equilibrium is also pretty easy to dose. It is one tablespoon (16 grams) per 20 gallons of water, to be added to replacement water only. To top off your tank for evaporated water, you must use RO water, not water with Equilibrium or Replenish. Hope this is helpful.

This product is very useful for re-balancing the makeup of the water placed through either of the process of Reverse Osmosis or De-Ionization, which by their very action strip many of the desirable elements from water processed through these means.

This seems to really help. I've noticed my more sensitive fish seem more active and it definitely brought my GH up so it wasn't zero. I have the worst tap water, I swear. I started with half the amount they suggest for my size tank and I like that dosage for me. Any more than that I'd be afraid the "swing" would be too drastic and would stress the fish out more than it helps.

I use this to add minerals for my crayfish. A little goes a long way and the bottle is enormous. I doubt I'll ever get through it. In general, I've always had very positive experiences with SeaChem products, so I trust them and the quality

I Only have live bearing fish inside of my tank. They require a high general hardness. My water is well water and it goes through a water softener which removes all the hardness. This stuff is fantastic at getting the hardness back up, however the instructions are very complicated for someone who doesn't understand all the terminology. I'm used to API And their measurement system, seachem uses completely different unit system for their measurements. That can make overdoing the hardness very easy. It can cause shock to the fish if you do it too quickly.

Bought to prepare RO water for daughters 2g freshwater. So far I'm happy - no excess nutrients and tap water junk so no brown algae outbreaks.
