I purchased this "house" for my dwarf hamsters and have been very happy with it. Each of my dwarf hamsters has an elevated 7" by 9" platform on which they each have a sand bath, a food bowl, and a water bottle. While they can get onto their platforms without steps, this "house" makes it easier for them to climb onto their platforms. I just keep the "house" RIGHT next to the platform and the hamsters use it to climb to eat, bathe, and drink.

An added benefit is that this "house" is not just a set of stairs; it is also a hide in which the hamsters can build a nest.

Finally, I appreciate how easy to clean this "house" is. My hamsters make a mess with their sand, but I have no issue cleaning off/out their little hides.

I had been looking everywhere for a new ladder to lead to the second floor of my guinea pig's cage. I wanted something that would first fit and he would actually use instead of jumping to the second floor. He eats his food upstairs and loves to watch movies from watching my Pc screen, once he fell asleep while watching tv and fell from the top and injured his back. I was afraid of this happening again, so I lowered the second floor which meant no hideout could fit in his cage. When I saw this product and that it had a duel purpose, I was ecstatic! The product came quickly and the Color was lime green. This was unimportant to me. My Guinea Pig has to be forced to come out of hiding he loves it so much. Plus, he actually climbs this and the unit fits right under the second floor so I was able to relift the 2nd floor to the top of this unit. It is wide and doubles as a landing to lay on, so it keeps him from rolling off the sides when he falls asleep. Both of my problems were solved, plus my little booger approves!!

I had been looking a while for a hideout for my rabbits. I wanted something they could go inside of and on top of. Everything I was finding was too small or WAY too expensive for me. I'm so glad I found this house. My 5lb rabbits fit in it nicely and it's sturdy and well made. I highly recommend this. And for the price, it just can't be beat.

I have a Guinea Pig that loves to climb on everything.Every time I look,he's on top of his bed or his hay rack or his tube so I bought this thinking he would love to climb it.Nope.He hates climbing it.
It wasn't a total waste though as both Jack & Sally love to hide in it.It makes a excellent hide a way for private time.

My hamsters mainly sleep underneath this medium size walk up barn and occasionally climb up on it when they look up for someone to get them out of cage. Easy to clean. My hamsters do not chew the plastic. You do not get a choice of what color it comes as but both times I ordered we got the light green color. I sometimes also use it to leave some fresh food on top.

My Guinea pig (less than a year old)absolutely LOVES this house. It's made of thick plastic which has held up well against chewing. The stairs are perfect for letting my little guy climb up to the top. He can also jump up to the top of the house so if your cage has a low roof you may want to supervise. The inside is spacious enough for him and his favorite blanket. It is very large. It takes up a lot of space. It's about a foot long. Measure your cage space before ordering!

I bought two so that each guinea pig could have their own. My more adventurous pig took to it right away. He went up the stairs and then happily leaped off the top of it. He was quite happy with himself after that and now anytime I put it in his cage or with him in the playpen he happily leaps off over and over. I don't leave it in his cage with him all the time because when he's at the top, he's almost even with the grids that make the wall of his cage and I don't have a lid. If he pushes this over closer to the grid he could easily jump out and that would be a 28 inch fall onto hard wood flooring. He doesn't really see it as a hiding spot though. He's too busy enjoying the upper level activity.

My second pig doesn't like the stairs part. I've tried to coax him to step up but he doesn't like it for the time being. I left it his in cage overnight so he could get used to it. I woke up and he had moved from his igloo to the hiding area under the stairs. He enjoys having two hidey spots so it's a plus.

I also ordered these to see how interested each piggy would be if I added a loft to their cage (who would be more likely to use this as steps or go up a ramp). I know it's not a guaranteed thing but at least I have some idea.

The large was HUGE for a guinea pig. Two can fit in there comfortably. This came with one edge broken which was disappointing. I think the large is too big for my little tubby piggers to climb on. They are having a hard time getting their back legs up onto the first step. I'm not encouraging them to climb it at this point, because I'm concerned that if they tumble from the top it could be harmful, as it is quite tall. I would definitely order a medium for a guinea pig next time.
