Excited to receive this product I went about the directions, installing on a stainless steal outdoor fan I have on the patio. It snapped in to place perfectly, and thats all that went right. The flat fitting that is supposed to attach to the garden hose was sealed by a small O-ring. It did not fit securely, would not thread properly to two different garden hoses and leaked, not a little - a lot. Both ends of the hose that were to supply the water from the garden hose end to the mist ring leaked, not a little - a lot. I tried tightening the hose clamps on both ends to no avail. Which brings me to the "mist" ring. I was under the impression that when the water did get to the ring, it would be a mist - not a shower. I have a mist system on my patio that provides "mist". This unit provides a camp ground style shower. The holes in the misting caps are way to large to provide a mist of water. If I was a football player on the sidelines the mist might be suitable, not for providing a cool comforting mist for you guests on a patio settings. Save your money on this product and keep looking.

This is the second time I submitted a review on this product. The first one must be lost in your system.
This product has two major flaws. I only kept and tried to fix it because I was desperate to cool a July 4th party I had planned.
1. The ring which distributes the water had cracks in it which allowed water to spray in all directions. I was able to stop this by applying glue to cover the leaks.
2. The water supply fitting is threaded for pipe threads not hose threads and it is too shallow to screw on properly. I had to buy an adapter to connect to water without leaks.

After I finally got the #%@& thing fixed, it didn't cool very well. I would not recommend this product.

I bought this because I hate to sweat in 100+ degrees when sitting outside. I have an oscillating fan on my back porch where I sit & read sometimes. This mister is alot more powerful than I had thought so I wont be able to read while I use it, but it works great! My porch is about 12 ft long & it sprays about 10 ft. I may have to get another set of chairs for my patio table, they are cushion & get SOAKED. The only problem I've noticed with the mister is it comes unclipped from the fan if bumped at all. Oh & its not clear tubing, its black tubing.

This would work like it is supposed to if the fitting that attaches to your garden hose had more threading on it, ie: screwing onto the hose end, and had a washer. Still can't use it because of this and is becoming quite a challenge to find a fitting that will work. don't purchase if you are not ready to do alittle hunting in your local hardware/lawn stores.

FIRST OF ALL, TWO NOZZELS WERE CLOGED, THE CLIPS EASILY BREAK, CONNECTION TO THE WATER HOSE LEAKS REALLY BAD AND GET READY TO GET SOAKING WET. NOT GOOD TO USE ON A DECK BUT MAY WORK BETTER AROUND A HOT TUB OR SWIMMING POOL IF YOU CAN GET THE LEAKY CONNECTION FIXED. I SUGGEST YOU KEEP SHOPPING FOR ANOTHER BRAND.

I just love the fan and the misting kit. The only complaint my husband and i have is you can not adjust the misting nozzles. So we have to place the fan clear across the yard to keep from getting wet.

I just hooked up this misting kit to my water hose and like all the others before me it does not fit on the threads for your water hose. Some idiot is selling these with a different type of pipe thread that will not seal more than 1 thread onto your water hose. I plan on going to Home Depot first thing tomorrow with the mister in hand to see if they can provide a replacement part. if not this crap is going back... and I better not be charged freight. One positive - I didn't turn my water hose on very much so the unit did actually mist like it was supposed to. As for it breaking... time will tell - if I keep it.

This is my first big disappointment with Amazon. I bought it as a Father's Day gift for all my brothers who live on my mom's deck in the summer after working on constant projects for my mom. Unfortunately I didn't test it Out...just sat it aside for the holiday. Turns out it worked for about 10 minutes before the motor fell apart, AND the return date was past! I've spent lots of money with Amazon and am really disappointed! A bad product is still a bad product 3 or so days after the return date expires. Buyer beware!
