I needed to replace an ancient lock on my mother's front door. I purchased a double-keyed deadbolt but there wasn't a pre-drilled cyclinder hole for the deadbolt. So short story is I bought this install kit, used a electric drill and did a pretty good job installing the lock. This is the first I've tried to do this type of job and clearly it is a consumer level quality but for the odd door lock install, it does very well. The bits held up very well for this wooden door but I imagine wouldn't be good for multiple doors in a row. The clamp is adequate but doesn't hold very strongly. Helps to have someone to steady the clamp while you're drilling. So very good consumer tool for an occasional job at a great price. I'm sure a locksmith would have charged 5 times the cost of this kit and the end result was pretty good.

The plastic guide simply cant be held in place when the hole cutting bit is inserted. This leads to a misaligned hole. I have installed door handles and deadbolt locks manyntimes without significant problems or issues. This setup make the installation far harder rather thannhelping. A real disappointment.

This unit makes installing door knobs and deadbolts a cinch. The plastic guide feels a little cheap but for the overall price a great deal.
