I thought this would be a general purpose weekend feeder, but it isn't. I have top and middle level swimming fish and bottom feeders. Only my bottom feeders (ottos and shrimp) ate this. The top and mid level feeders did try to nibble on this but didn't find it to their taste. And my uninvited guests, the snails, loved it.

Summary: In my case, only for bottom feeders and scavengers.

I use these to give my snails some extra calcium. They love eating them. I like that they are small one lasts about a week in my tank. Will say I'm not sure how well it dissolves at least in my tank since they do seem to last a long time. I know if I put where the goldfish could eat it would be gone in hours.

These work as advertised and my fish seem to find it and eat from it, but I warn if you have really base-water they just won't dissolve. I was going through some pretty drastic PH-issues and dropped one in, came back 3 days later and there it was, fully in one-piece.

I bring my garden pond fish in for the winter (don't want to take a chance on "popsicle" fish) & they are in my cellar. That meant up & down stairs frequently. Son & husband disapprove -for fear of falling - so using these tabs reduces those up & downs and everyone is relatively happy.

The fish have never told me whether or not they actually eat any or not, but it is always gone when I get home and the fish don't seem to be hungry. It could be disappearing if my water is too basic (or too acidic?), but I think they probably eat at least some.

This is garbage. I put this "weekend feeder" in the tank right before leaving on Wednesday morning, and came back Monday night and it was still solid. No part of it whatsoever fed my fish. So, I literally starved my fish for 5 days using this "weekend feeder".

I have a Betta and was going on vacation and wanted to make sure he was fed. I decided to try it out the week before and he didnt eat any of it and it deteriorated and sometimes came out in chunks and was hard to clean up. I eventually just had a neighbor watch him instead. The food didnt look like it was coming out anyways. So far I have been looking around and most reviews say vacation and weekend feeders arent something fish will eat.

I put this in my tank before I left over the weekend, and nobody died, but I'm not sure who ate what. It takes fish longer than two days to die of starvation, so it's hard to tell if my tetras or danio ate it, I think the corydoras did. Mostly it just made me realize that I have a larger snail problem than I thought, but hey, they cleaned it up for me. So at the very least with this you can say, hey, there is something in the tank that the fools can eat, if they starve it's not my fault. One thing though, I do know for sure that Betta fish won't eat it, I tried and failed with that a while back. Didn't go well.(also check your ph, if your water isn't acidic enough it won't break down)
