I used to purchase these locally in order to endure working while work was being done on the building -- heavy dust and falling debris from ceiling and vents. I found them comfortable, though much heavier than the cheap thin things the front office provided “occasionally.” They are designed for heavy medical environment (the box claims protection against TB), but I need to tackle the jungle that has become my yard. In hot, humid weather, they are naturally extra warm, but I have serious sinus problems for which they work fine.

Yet another CDC bulletin, "Interim Guidance for Environmental Infection Control in Hospitals for Ebola Virus," says, "The role of the environment in transmission has not been established. Limited laboratory studies under favorable conditions indicate that Ebola virus can remain viable on solid surfaces, with concentrations falling slowly over several days."

Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy-University of Minnesota---"Being at first skeptical that Ebola virus could be an aerosol-transmissible disease, we are now persuaded by a review of experimental and epidemiologic data that this might be an important feature of disease transmission, particularly in healthcare settings."

The masks are high quality and easy to pack in my purse for air travel. However, they are extremely hot to wear for more than a few minutes. I purchased a different type that has an exhalation valve, it is not as hot to wear.

Better than the usual ones I have tried. I like that it can be kept flat but has a structure inside to mold the mask to suit your face.
