Oh, man, these things are heartbreakers. They LOOK gorgeous, and actually feel really good when you first put them on...for about ten minutes. I'm not sure what they mean by "breathe easily in the Spanish heat," but I found that they didn't really breathe in the Oregon cool. Also, they smell like you have Ace bandages wrapped around your feet. I can see them being maybe decent beach shoes, but I wouldn't wear them on an extended day trip.

This is my second pair of Keen's Madrid Mary Jane Shoe - I have them in Iguana and Beet Red and I love them! My first pair started to smell funky after a year. These were the shoes that I wore most frequently so that makes sense. They don't make my feet hot like some reviewers have said. I have wide feet and they fit very well. I normally buy a size 9 (normal) but since this is a wide shoe, I bought a 8.5 and they fit perfectly. I don't recommend wearing these without socks or in the rain. I can wear them for up to 10 hours (how long I am at work) a day several 4-5 days a week. I would buy another color if I could!

I love these shoes. They are super soft and comfy. My feet do get a little hot in them, but I lined them with wool inserts that I cut out of an old felted sweater. I get lots of compliments on them too. I ordered a 7 even though I usually wear a 7.5. Keen seem to run a little big.
