As the owner of a video production company, Yellow Raven Productions in Medford Oregon, I often need inexpensive tape to do projects like taping dance practice sessions for training DVDs. This tape fits the bill perfectly. I used to buy my tape in 20 packs from Costco, but they quit carrying it because I guess more and more people are going to tapeless cameras. I own two Sony professional video cameras and like to be able to archive my material and with tape it is an uncompressed file. So untill they quit making tape I will continue to use it.

These are great tapes at a great price. I bought the 20 pack for only about 1.5 times the amount I could purchase only 3 tapes in our neighborhood store. These tapes seem to be harder and harder to find with everything gone digital now. I was so happy to find a nice supply at a great price!

I have used thousands of these tapes and not ONE has ever failed me. It's important to use the same brand of tape in your camera because the different chemicals used on the tapes can wreak havoc with the heads if you don't.

Our daughter is 8 years old and I've been using these tapes to record her life growing up for all these years. I am currently on tape 134 (yes that's 8,040 hours of family recordings!) and I have not once ever had a problem with these tapes.

I also record the content from my video recorder to my computer to have a copy on my hard drives as well and transfers have been flawless the whole time. 8,040 flawless hours and counting of recording my little angel is all the real world testing a person could ask for.

We may be taking a 3 month road trip as early as next month (Sept. 2011) around the entire U.S. and if we do I'll probably have another 2k-3k hours of recording onto these tapes! If you're having problems with them then I'd suggest you check your camera because its not the tapes.

I have been using Panasonic minidv tapes for years now with my Wedding and Corporate video business. They have time and again proven to be reliable and affordable. I find that they produce excellent HDV quality, and are considerably cheaper than HDV minidv tapes. I have had almost no issues whatsoever with the quality of the tapes and dropped frames or footage in the literally hundreds of tapes I have gone through. If you are still working with minidv's and haven't moved on to the tapeless workflow yet, then Panasonics are a great way to go.

A word of advice though: if you use primarily Sony tapes, then don't switch to other brands. Sony uses a wet lubricant on their tape stock, and most other brands like Panasonic use a dry lubricant. The result when switching back and forth regularly between the two is that they can create a residue in your cameras and decks, impeding their ability to capture, record, or play back properly.

I use these in my Canon HV30 HD Camcorder and have always loved the quality!
They record extremely well and work just as advertised. Also, while they may claim to only be 60 minute tapes, I usually get about 65 minutes out of them and some even can go to 70 minutes before finally running out of tape.

I use all 20 of them every year for a conference I attend and have been nothing but pleased with the quality they offer.
Great tapes! I'll be back for more for next years conference!

Didn't know video on tape could be so clean, no drop outs, amazing, please clean your heads from residue of other brands be
for use of this tape. I've been using for maybe 2 years now and must say. Why did i wait so long.
tape is still the best option for backup and it don't crash or get corrupted.

Seems a little old-school nowadays, but these tapes still serve our TV production facility well for run-and-gun shoots with lightweight cameras. Panasonic makes some great stuff; hard to go wrong with these.
