Makita’s 10-Inch Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw combines more accuracy and portability with the largest cutting capacity in its class. The new Makita LS1016 is engineered with Deep and eXact cutting Technology (DXT): it is a 10” dual slide compound miter saw with the crown cutting capacity (vertically nested) of a 12” saw, and also has the increased accuracy of a 10-inch blade without the potential run-out of larger blades. The LS1016 combines large cutting capacity with a range of precision and ease-of-use features. In addition, the LS1016 is compact and easier to maneuver, making it ideal for day-to-day use at the jobsite or on the benchtop. “The design of this new 10-inch slide miter saw is the result of careful development and field research with building contractors and professional woodworkers,” said Joe Soto, product manager – pneumatics and residential construction. “Professional tradesmen told us that cutting capacity, accuracy and portability were at the top of their list, and we listened. The new LS1016 is a 10-inch dual slide compound miter saw with the vertically nested crown cutting capacity of a 12-inch model. It has a compact design with a patented 4-Steel Rail Sliding System and 6 linear ball bearings engineered to produce solid, smooth, dead-on accurate cuts. This is a best-in-class 10” dual slide compound miter saw for a range of trades.” The LS1016 has an innovative direct drive gearbox and guard system engineered for increased vertical cutting capacity. At 6-5/8”, the LS1016 has the largest crown molding cutting capacity (vertically nested) in its class. Makita’s patented retractable rear guard provides the LS1016 with 4-3/4” baseboard cutting capacity (vertical). The LS1016 also has a cross-cutting capacity of 12” at 90°.
