This harness is part of a set, I bought the matching leash & collar.

It's a good set, fairly good quality, soft feeling nylon, bright color with reflective strips that work well.

Small size was right for my 6 lb tea cup Pomeranian.

I was disappointed in the color, which is much more of a bright cornflower than turquoise; it looks like the picture, yes, but that is NOT turquoise.

My main concern was, would it fit? I bought the small size 27-38mm (10-15 inches). My dog is a little 4 lb precocious yorkie. She is a little on the skinny side as she is high energy and could run for miles, both conditions I'm sure will change as she ages. It is very hard to find collars and harnesses small enough to safely and securely fit her. This harness is perfect. Tightened to the utmost it is actually too small for her! I had to loosen it about halfway to get a perfect fit. I would expect it could work for a dog as small as 2 or 3 lbs. Expanded all the way it might fit an 6-8 lb dog.

PROS: I love the one quick release snap. The material and sewing is quality and durable. This design is easy to put on and an absolute breeze to take off compared to traditional harnesses. I believe it is more comfortable for the dog as well, and it doesn't tangle the hair as much as the traditional harness design. A harness is a necessity for those little dogs who like to BE dogs, down on the ground and sniffing stuff and peeing on things. As opposed to being carried around in a purse. Collars are not safe to use as a leashing restraint because of the fragility of the tiny dogs trachea. When a dog pulls on the leash a collar puts all the pressure on their tracheas, which are fragile enough in these tiny dogs that they can actually collapse from the pressure of their own weight. The second reason for a harness is that it is secure enough that you can safely snatch the dog up from the ground super fast and into your arms using the leash in the event you are rushed by a large dog, or a small dog, or cat for that matter ;).

CONS: If you expect a thin line of thread to do anything for making the dog more visible, you will probably be disappointed.Read more ›

Well, the description said it fits Maltese so I purchased this. Turns out that its too snug; returned and exchanged this for a medium (which is too big). And yes, I measured my dog before I made the purchase. There were no issues with the quality--which seemed just fine. I think there needs to be a size to cover dogs between 14.9 and 16.5 inches around the chest, as the small was too small and the medium was too big.

I have a rather small chihuahua, weighing in at 4lbs. Most harnesses seem to fit him a bit awkwardly, but the Rogz Nitelife is just about perfect! The front and back adjustments at their smallest fit him with the front being a little loose. The adjustments have stayed during play and normal walks, which makes me happy since the last few harness we've tried all seem to slip. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that some of the stitching seems where straps come together is a bit rough. Nothing seems to bother my Chi, but it could be a bother to another dog with sensitive skin and a different adjustment.

I have an 8 pound miniature dachshund and it was nearly impossible to get an H-style harness over his head to fit easily (and quickly!) around his very different proportions around his chest versus lower rib cage. This step-in Rogz harness makes it super quick to get him all harnessed up before we head outside. Like others have said, the clip is small and is made of stiff plastic. However, what else could you expect of a small harness? It has taken a while to get the clasp loosened up some, but I don't mind... I figure the stiffness is a sign of durability! I live in a state with 300+ days of sun a year and the harness hasn't faded and it has reflective threads woven in the harness which is great for nighttime walks. My pup doesn't seem to mind the harness at all when it is on and I haven't noticed it rubbing on his skin in any strage ways; I'm very satisfied with this purchase!

Thanks to another reviewer with a 10 pound dog, I knew to get the small version of this harness. I had to adjust it to its maximum size to fit her in her current very shaggy state, but any larger and it probably would have come right off her.

My only complaint with this harness is that it allows her to pull against the harness much more easily than with harnesses that attach at the front. Those also have issues, such as tangling around the dog's legs more often if the dog is walking ahead, but they do discourage pulling because they tighten the more the dog pulls, which is more uncomfortable than just something tugging at them from behind. I may have to go back to using my front lead harness until I can thoroughly train the leash pulling out of my dog. At that point I will experiment again to see which is the better harness for a well-behaved little doggie. This one is definitely cuter and easier to get on and off.
