I bought this because I liked the modular abilities, with the tube and ring. My fish are VERY stupid. I drop in food, the community fish will grab maybe one piece and the rest floats away. Thank god I have a Betta as well, otherwise they'd never notice food even there. The Betta (a comparative genius) has no fear and always checks out whatever I put in the tank. And he'll give all the food a try, signaling to the stupid community fish that THERE IS FOOD HERE. The Betta is also less picky, where the community fish turn their noses up at anything not flake or worms. And any food that falls to the bottom? GONE FOREVER--as far as the community fish are concerned. The Betta prefers top feeding, but he's not so proud that he won't go picking at bloodworms that he missed on the way down.

Although my Cories prefer bottom feeding and wiggle like excited puppies digging into the gravel, even they have figured out that there is FOOD in the ring and will occasionally swim up to snuffle at it.

The holes in the tube are a little too small for frozen bloodworms and I have to smear them on the inside to get frozen mysis and brine shrimp to trickle out. However, its perfect for Daphnia, which is the only thing my snooty India Glass fish will eat. I drop the frozen cube in the top and tiny particles eek out slowly. When I want to make sure all of them eat, instead of the one dominant one who chases the others away, I tap the tube and a small cloud comes out, and the whole school dashes in like a feeding frenzy.

I might use a knife to open the holes a bit more. It might work fine for live food, but frozen needs help. Also, I wish there was an automatic feeder for frozen food.

I saw this item on Amazon.com and thought I would give it a try. I have a figure 8 puffer that will only eat bloodworms that are in the water. This worm feeder holds the bloodworms and my puffer just picks at the cone like a worm dispenser. What a great way to feed fish like puffers, discus fish and other carnivorous fish. You can also remove the cone and use it as a fish food ring. So, you have two types of fish feeders in one.

This worked great for me. I have an african dwarf frog that needs bloodworms. This cone worked fantastic. The other ring is great for flake food. Only some of my Swordtails figured it out though. Definitely wasted less food though.

I use it to feed my community tank freeze-dried tubifex worms. I basically have the cone inverted at the bottom of the tank since freeze-dried tubifex floats. So the worms stay at the apex of the cone, where all the fishes pick on the worms until they're all gone. I rated it 4 stars because the cone is not attached to the ring - I had to superglue it on.

I just wasn't expecting much from this feeder, but I have angelfish and wanted to try it. This little gizmo doesn't come with instructions so I placed mine in a corner, with the lip of the feed about 1/2 inch above the water. (The trickiest part was getting the suction cup on straight.) Loaded it with dried blood worms.

Then I sat back and waited.

Angelfish are very, very curious critters. That's part of their attraction. The fish were at the feeder within seconds! This morning they were all lined up like a bunch of regulars waiting for their favorite coffee shop to open! Best $5.00 I ever spent.

I use this with my frozen worms and it works just fine. Keeps them together in one spot. They still will fall out and down when the fish peck at it but it's a good thing because the fish under them don't have to go up they just wait for the food to drop. In my case the ones that don't make to the top they wait for it to just come down and they get plenty. So don't think the strong will survive but the smarter will wait for it to fall. To sum it up the price is good and product is well made.

Originally I'd bought this with the intention of using it in my larger tank.
But I was unable to attach the suction cups to the cone.
Wound up using it in my Aqueon Evolve 4 .
As it turned out, the cone is a custom fit for the hole in the lid of the Aqueon Evolve 4 tank.
Who knew?
So I leave the cone in place, which has the added advantage of keeping jumpers in the tank.
Its super for feeding mosquito larvae, immature daphne, grindal and blood worms.
The larger daphne are too big to get thru the slots, but everything else gets out eventually.

I replaced suction cup with one I had in my private stock because original cup was made from hard silicone with no flexibility to expend when it attaching to the glass. I could improve performance of the cup by keeping cup under the hot water for a few seconds but I decided to skip this step because this step should be repeated every time when cup has to be re-attached again.
