I have a Dan Wesson 357 and wanted some kind of laser sight for home defense. Since it's a revolver and it's not a Smith & Wesson, I can't get a Crimson Trace style grip laser so that limits me to these type of trigger mount lasers. Since they're so cheap, I was very worried I'd get junk so I bought Firefield because it was the most expensive of the trigger lasers I could find and they make other laser sights so I thought there might be a chance I'd get something that would work. Guess what... it's junk.

First, it will not fit a Dan Wesson trigger guard well because the trigger guard isn't perfectly flat and the plastic inserts that go with the trigger guard clamp assume you've got a perfectly flat trigger guard. That means no matter what I do or how tight I get it, the laser always slides around way too easily on the trigger guard.

Next, the windage and elevation adjustments didn't adjust the laser. A little turn. No change. A bigger turn. Still no change.

Next, as I was turning the windage and elevation adjustments and the sight was busy sliding around on my trigger guard the laser would get dimmer, then brighter, then finally it just shut off completely. Why in the world does the windage and elevation affect whether or not the laser is on? Yes, I had the battery in correctly and it was tightened down.

Bottom line. I got a trigger guard laser sight that didn't fit my trigger guard, didn't emit a laser, wasn't steady and couldn't be adjusted. Sadly, those are the things it's supposed to do! Of course those are just the facts based on my experience. Maybe you'll get one that works, but if you have ANY other options, I'd strongly recommend you look at the other alternatives.

Maybe someone at Crimson Trace will read this and actually come out with a laser grip for Dan Wesson? Maybe?

I spend 1 hour getting the thing mounted, and then 2 hours at the range before ditching it. Once you get it dialed in... it shifts... dial it in again... it shifts...

Basically, I decided it was better to trade in my p85 for a gun equipped with a rail...

Defective product, and Firefield knows it and continues to sell it. The screw that attaches the laser to the mount is too long. When screwed in it hits the laser switch, which then does not work. This is only one of the "problems" with this product. Check other reviews for more "problems."

From Firefield's Quality Assurance (?) Manager:

"I went ahead and installed one and found the issue you described.
What I can do is cut down the screw and send you two of them for these two units. It appears the factory had made them a mm too long."

Terrible product! The mounting kit consists of several variable wedges to "try" and mount to your trigger gaurd- so as to line it up with the barrel of your pistol... Electrical tape would be a more effective mount! At least I was able to give the laser to my daughter, so she could use it to annoy the cat. This product was to be for a browning buckmark.

I wanted a laser to mount on my Taurus PT745 PRO. I chose this one because my gun does not have accessory rails. Although the laser itself works perfectly, mounting it on a pistol is more than frustrating! My hands are not at all large, but I found that trying to get the two small screws in from the trigger side, and tightening these screws up, can be a huge pain in the butt. The threads should be machined in the other piece to make mounting it something that would not require a gunsmith.

Switch is kind of "sketchy" because you have to play with it until the lazer comes and stays on, not to mention my batteries were corroded beyond use so I had to buy those as well

This is junk. It didn't work straight out of the package. Batteries that came with it were dead. I tried a new set and it still wouldn't work.
