Most of us (students) have been there, spending most of our paycheck on the essentials: rent, utilities, credit card balances. And when all is paid and done we have little spending money for food, and we survive on noodles. You may be used to Maruchan Ramen Noodles, as that is what is stocked in most stores and supermarkets, but listen up, (Thai) MAMA brand noodles are *significantly* better than any other of those cheap noodles.

Growing up in an exotic childhood, my mom used to serve this to us as kids. Somehow I forgot about this brand when I was in college. In college I only ate the Maruchan ones because they are cheap. Never again. When I found out Amazon stocked these I ordered them right away. Beef is one of their best flavors, with duck, and the clear pho noodles coming in next. If you do a side by side comparison with Maruchan you will notice a big difference in taste. The MAMA noodles will have more flavor, with slightly sturdier noodles that doesn't get mushy as easily.

— HOW TO COOK (My method) —
• Pour two-ish cups of water into a soup pot.
• Place the dry noodles in the water and set it to high heat.
• Wait for the water to boil, and check the doneness of your preference with a fork (I like mine slightly al dente like spaghetti, cooked but not mushy).
• Turn off heat.
• In a bowl pour out all the flavor packets into it with the exception of the spice pack; only add what spice level you can handle.
• Pour noodles and some water into bowl and mix. Don't add too much water as that will dilute the flavor. You want just enough water to cover the noodles, and be able to drink some after.Read more ›

I first found these at my local Walgreens but they are notorious for running out of stock and never replacing it so I bought a big supply through Amazon. I'll probably be eating these things for the rest of my life since I don't eat ramen (which this essentially is) all that often. I like the pork flavor and the slight spiciness (although I no longer use the entire spice packet since I'm a wuss). I also like to add bok choy or napa or spinach (or all the green leafies I have), chopped chives or green onions, and dump an eggs in the hot stock to poach.

Its only pork flavor. No meet is in the package: only noodles, pork flavor envelope and hot spice envelope.
You can add what you have. I usual add bok choy, left over pork tender loin or boneless chicken and some time left over peas / carrots.
You can also just have it as broth and noodles. Note: don't add the smaller hot spice package until you are ready to eat. Also only add a little at a time until you get to your desired taste
The two packets together are the pork flavoring and the single packet is the red/orange hot spice stuff

I tried these and fell in love!
My whole family loved them, even my mom who is so into her old fashioned cooking.
We add a couple drops of toasted sesame oil and it takes it over the top.
I tried buting them again, but they got so expensive, maybe i got them on sale for 6.99
I definitely recommend these!

Some of the product came damaged and partially crumbly, but I always expect that when I order something like hard noodles online. It's not an issue that detracts for me, because even at the store, I will always occasionally encounter this when picking up a random package to buy. If I could describe instant noodles as fresh, I would probably describe this as that. It seems like it's new, or fresh, or however you would describe instant noodles that aren't old...? Anyway, as for the flavor itself, I usually leave out a bit of the chili powder, so I'm glad it wasn't automatically included. It ranges from mild to spicy, maybe just spicy if you've got a delicate palate. Artificial pork flavor. Instant noodles. Pretty much everything it says on the tin, but I do love this brand, so it might be my bias that says this one's particularly good at flavor. Don't eat too much though, as with any instant noodles, it has a lot of sodium/salt.

I like the Thai noodles. I like the fact that I can add spices to my taste. I think this is the best way. Make it as spicy as I like to make it. They have a good flavor, but I spice it up a little more with some fresh fried garlic. Great product.
