I don't know what all the negative reviews were about (misdrilled holes? okkkkk...) This mount is great for adding picatinny accessories to your Ruger 10/22. My only complaint is the see through capability is a little skewed..Sure you can see the top of your rear site and the entire front site, but I couldn't hit a damn thing with it. Other than that, I love the mount and my red dot site works perfect now.

I wanted a tactical Picatinny-style rail for my Ruger 10/22 in order to mount a red dot sight on the rifle. This inexpensive accessory did the job. It comes with the rail as well as five screws (one extra) for attaching the rail to the pre-drilled holes in the rifle. The holes lined up perfectly--it is necessary to put the first couple of screws in gently, and get all four started before tightening them down. Follow this rule and the rail will attach to the rifle in a minute or so. No problem.

This rail is very attractive and compliments the looks of the gun, I plan to leave it permanently on my Ruger 10/22. One commenter has noted that this rail is too high for use with the stock Ruger sights. I have corrected this review to agree with him although I am not 100% certain that he is correct. I am not a fan of the OEM Ruger sights and recommend that anyone who wants to shoot seriously with iron sights on the 10/22 should mount the Tech Sight TSR100 sight system on their 10/22.

This rail is solidly made, well-machined, looks great and does the job. My Aimpoint H-1 red-dot sight attached smartly to it once I had it mounted on the rifle. This is a good tactical rail. Highly recommended. RJB.

The rail mount is a nice matte black with a tiny bit of shine. It's light as a feather, adding no weight at all to the firearm. It comes with 4 screws that fit well and hold it in place nicely. I have it mounted on a Ruger 10/22 Takedown and it looks great. A good contrast from the matte black composite stock, to the brushed stainless steel action, to the rail itself.

Pic uploaded (please see).

It feels very sturdy and of good quality metal. On inspection I see no issues. Looks like it has been made in a quality controlled factory. All the edges are smooth, and it is completely black (no scuffs or dints of any kind).

Fits great.

I got this to allow for mounting various scopes and sighting contraptions on my modified Ruger 10/22 rifle. I became frustrated with other rails that either didn't provide enough mount points or were not accurate (by design) between front and back rings.

The two other rail types I have used both had only two mount slots, one in back and one in front. One rail was a one-piece like this Picatinny rail but had only the two slots. I needed more slots to choose from so I could mount the scopes forward enough to fit my needs. The other rail was actually a two-part rail, again with only one slot per piece (front and rear), causing much the same problem. In addition, this two-part rail system was inherently inaccurate. Either end could easily be setup out of true, causing sighting-in problems as well as consistency problems when removing and reattaching sights.

Then I learned of the Picatinny spec used by the military forces around the world, found and bought this product, and have been extremely happy since. Since it's a one-piece, once it's on, it never moves, providing much better consistency when switching between different sighting items. For instance, I may want to use a normal scope one day for target practice but then switch to a red-dot sight later in the evening for twilight varmint hunting. This rail allows for as consistent a mounting system as I need - it's not perfect but within 1/2" at 100 yards. Plenty good enough for me.

I'm thinking about mounting a couple of more on the forend of my stock for tactical toys like a flashlight/laser combo for quick night time sighting - the raccoons are getting annoying out here on the farm!

Great little product.

I read the reviews that said I could use ironsights with this product, I dont see how, I mounted it and was not able to see the front sight on my Ruger 10/22.
It is however a quality product and mounted perfectly for my red dot sight..Overall a good product.

I must have got unlucky.

This came with screws that did not fit my 10/22. At finger tightness with the included allen-key, the rail was very loose and useless for the purposes of keeping a scope at zero. The top of the screw was also more level with the top of the rail rather than the base of it interfering with ring placement.

This clearly didn't seem right, so I put the requisite muscle into it to get the top of the screws level with the base of the rail and that also stabilized it to the point it would hold a scope still. With my scope installed, I now noticed my action no longer operated... the screws had actually gone through the top of the receiver and were blocking the action... that is except the one that sheared off from barely a bit more pressure than finger tightness, presumably because it was the front screw and hit the top of the chamber instead.

I thought the screws seemed a little difficult to get in at first, and now I'm realizing it's because they were never intended to fit. After removing this, the tapped holes in the top of the receiver were clearly bored out by these screws.

This is a bummer not only because I rush ordered this to get some distance plinking in on Memorial Day weekend, but now I got to find a gunsmith to fix the damage I did by trying to use the included hardware.

The rail itself is a nice piece of metal and the holes were drilled perfectly for the 10/22, the problem is I think I got bad hardware and lacked the experience to realize it before doing damage to my gun. I've included pics to show where one screw sheared off and a hole was bored out, and another showing light through the top of the receiver into the action.
