not sure if this is the one that comes with the button head screws or not but I bought these plates for $9.00 a piece with no hard wear.i decided to ream the holes out on my drill press and use some left over rivets from some ak builds to secure it to the receiver and filing the surface flush . it worked very well for what I planned with a near factory look. even if you don't have a lot of tools all you need is a drill and some bits to fit whatever hardwear you use.i recommend using locktight permanent (RED) is using any type of screws on any type of firearm, and dermal or file the protruding screw ends so they do not interfere with internals or look cheesy at the least. you can also go the extra mile and use black epoxy to fill screw holes to look like factory fasteners...I wouldn't use screws, though they will hold fine if you follow these steps.as for aligning it just line it up with the X and Y axis holes/pins and even out the space around the pins to allow even clearance. clamp it with 2 c clamps and use a drill bit for the rest. you don't need to remove the trigger group while aligning and drilling just to locktight, secure and dermal the extra threads
hope this helps

Great product. Only real option to mount a scope on my Yugo M70B1. Unless you've got a drill press, a tap and die set and are comfortable drilling through your receiver, take this to a competent gunsmith for installation. Use 10 X 32 button head allen screws from the hardware store and have the outside holes of the mount tapped so that the screws can be installed from inside the receiver. A word of caution: the forward allen screw button head can not project too far into the receiver or it will obstruct mag clearance (at least with my Tapco polymer mags). I had to remove the forward button head allen screw and re-install without the lock washer (added lock-tight to threads) so I could achieve the necessary clearance. This only applies to Yugos with 1.5 mil thick receivers. This may not be the case with a WASR-10.

The construction seems sturdy. I fired over 150 rounds last week with a scope mounted on the AK scope mount base and it didn't budge a bit. When the item came in, I was surprised that the nuts and bolts came with it because it didn't say anything on the item's description. The holes in the back did not align with my Arsenal AK47 Classic trigger group pin, but I have plenty of tools to modify it to make it work. So despite with all modifications needed to be done to make it fit properly, I'm giving this item 5 Stars because I'm very satisfied with the price and the materials durability.

Perfect! Easy to install, but don't screw up! I installed this on a CIA C39 AK-47 with a milled receiver. There is a YouTube how-to video that a guy made that is worth watching for how "not" to install this scope mount. He made critical mistakes, which he admits all the way through his installation. First, line the mount up properly with the receiver. Mark, punch, and drill one or the other (forward/rear) holes. Let me stress, use the correct drill size!!!!!! Otherwise, you will sheer your tap off if the hole is to small. Good luck drilling it out! He used a 1/8 drill bit which he said is close to a .33mm size needed. No it ain't! He broke his tap on the first hole. Unfortunately, he drilled the all there holes before taping one and securing the mount. His receiver was all "jacked" up at this point. Then he started talking about using one of the nuts on the inside to hold it on. Ain't going to work either on a milled receiver. They are for the stamped receiver. Anyway, saw this disaster coming right from the beginning. Now he's got to fill with Devcon or something?

Works perfect on my Bulgarian AK-74. I lined up the plate parallel with the top of the receiver, marked where I needed to drill, drilled the holes, cleaned them up and bolted this plate on. It is perfectly lines up with the bore axis and accepts my optics rail. Will recommend to anyone looking to put optics on their AK.

This rail fits several types of mounts with no problem. I have riveted them successfully too, with a little effort. Remember to drill your receiver holes before you bend. The best way to mount these that I have found is to tap the holes with 10-32 and use socket head cap screws from inside the receiver.

I had the mounted on my AK and this rails is extremely sturdy. However, the screws that were provided were too short to adapt to my receiver; not that big of a deal however (CAI, Yugo Zastava PAP). I also purchased the attachable UTG mounting rail and it adapts perfectly to this piece. It is rock solid and holds zero even after some aggressive shooting at the range.

Obviously there isn't much here that could go wrong. The design is pretty much standard no matter what brand you look at and after a professional install this mount has done everything you could expect from it.
