Ever since Lipton Green Label stopped selling Darjeeling tea in USA, its been a constant fight to get good Darjeeling tea. I have grown up in East India, where we used to get Darjeeling tea directly from the garden. The whole leaf full flavor, which after about 3 to 5 minutes of brewing makes a golden brew, which resembles the color of early evening sky, right after the sunset while its gentle aroma slowly fills the room, it makes a great start of the day.

Ever since coming to US I used to bring a huge packet of tea from India, or compromised with Lipton. After Lipton stopped selling I tried Twinings, but its not full leaf tea, its a cut and the flavor rather light.

I discovered the Coffee Bean direct last month, just took a chance, and oh boy, this is exactly what I always wanted. The best of the Darjeeling is right here. The price is very very reasonable compared to quality of the pack I got. Now, one thing to remember, no matter which tea you buy, it varies from pack to pack, but most of the time they get their tea's from same garden and taste similar. I don't really know it will be same for the next pack, but for now this is definitely the most authentic Darjeeling tea I have ever tested around this side of the earth.

Where did Coffee Bean Direct get this tea from? I have never had a Darjeeling tea that tasted this bad. If you add enough tea to your steep to get some flavor, you get a lot of bitterness. If you add less tea you don't get the bitterness but you don't get the flavor either. I can't believe that anyone would enjoy drinking this tea. This purchase was a total waste of money for me. Even Lipton Brand Black Tea is far superior in taste to this product. Darjeeling is often referred to as the "Champagne" of teas. This Darjeeling could be referred to as the "Beer" (bitter) of teas.

Wow what a deal! great tea favorite variety. Enough to last for a good time even though I make a pot of tea each day. Recommended for true tea lovers. Leaves are a little large but the brew is flavorful and refreshing. Not the quality of more expensive Darjeeling teas but better quality than was expected for the price. Very large quantity.

For the price this is a good buy. The leaves are somewhat crumbly (not the long whole leaves I am used to seeing in a good Darjeeling tea). The flavor is acceptable. I usually mix it with other higher quality teas (i.e. Earl Grey) to make a stronger cup of tea,

v nice price for Darjeeling tea
However, a warning that this gets dark colored and tasting v quickly compared to high quality Darjeeling so if you are used to Darjeeling first blush then you should remove the tea leaves after about a minute or max two

This tea is not the highest quality Darjeeling but it is good. I chop up and add fresh ginger to it and it is delicious! I would recommend steeping this tea a bit less than you might normally do. I personally like a stiff cup because I add soy milk to it, so it needs to be a strong brew, but if not adding milk, this brews very strong and very fast. I drink 32 oz of tea a day and I rotated this with Coffe Bean Direct's Earl Greay 2lb bag and their Lapsang 2 lb bag. I am just having to reorder tea 14 months later, and I still have some lapsang left. So for $66 I had 6lbs of tea that lasted over 14 months total. You can't beat that!

It has become increasingly difficult to get good Darjeeling tea. I tried this one because it had some good reviews, however, it doesn't look, smell or taste like genuine Darjeeling tea. The taste of Darjeeling differs by when it is picked and most tea companies sell a combination of 1st and 2nd flush. This company does not specify but it didn't taste anything like Darjeeling and I have tried first, second and autumn flush as well as monsoon. It was very bitter and astringent, it didn't look good when I opened it so I only used 1/2 teaspoon of tea. However, the brew was dark and bitter with a nasty aftertaste, really undrinkable.

I grew up drinking Darjeeling tea for breakfast, but it was hard to continue the tradition, since it was hard to find a reasonably priced loose leaf Darjeeling tea where we live. For a long time we bought the Twinnings loose leaf tin in the supermarket until they stopped carrying it.

We found a couple of suppliers on the web and used them, until we finally found Coffeebean Direct and have been ordering exclusively from them since 2005!

This Darjeeling is our favorite every-day tea and I drink at least a pot every day! What a blessing to be able to get it from Amazon for a lot lower shipping charges (thanks to Prime) and as a subscription!

Yeah!!!
