Great little scale for a fair price, its about the size of a deck of cards, we use it for mail but it has a troy setting for metals like gold and silver, the cover makes a small tray using the tare mode. I've dropped it several time with no damage.

This scale is amazing. My ONLY problem is the fact that the scale turns off too quickly for example, If I put the tray and decide to zero out the scale after the tray is on, if I don't put something on there quickly enough the scale will turn off and I have to zero out the scale all over.

The scale you'll actually get is the 650, not a 500, (I think another reviewer stated this as well). No problem, that's a free upgrade in my book! This little scale is dead on accurate right out of the box! Stuck a 2011 penny on it and it said 2.5g right on the nose; (this is a good test to perform on your new scale). I bought this scale to check the troy oz weight of silver rounds, which this scale does out three decimal places; (again, weight was right on the nose for all 1oz rounds). I am very impressed with the accuracy of this scale; it has worked flawlessly for me so far. I bought mine from the Newcool store through Amazon and was not charged shipping.... $6.45 out the door for the perfect scale!

When I got this scale my first concern was to check it's accuracy. I placed the lid on the scale, zeroed it out, and placed a nickel on the tray. Weighs accurately! Double weighed a few things and turns out THIS scale is accurate. Tray has a lip on the edges so things won't fall off the scale. Pretty small size, which is convenient. Easy to function, backlight display makes it easy to read.

Not accurate to weigh things. A majority of the time when I place what I need to weigh on the scale it consistently shows a weight of 0.0g, even though I know it should be showing a weight. I would not recommend this scale.

Pretty good for the price. Doesn't get the same weight every time when you use the tray/lid, but it is close to accurate which is good enough for my purposes. I use this to weigh left over scraps of yarn to see how many ounces I have. Putting things flat on the scale top is more accurate. So anyways, it works for me. The clear plastic lid doubles as a tray to weigh in, which I also like and it keeps your scale protected when not in use.

Scale is accurate for the price, it does it's job well nothing more to really say about it other then its accurate to 1/10 a gram and the screen is backlit.. It's very small and the display is easy to read. For the price if you only need accuracy to one tenth a gram its perfect. 4 not 5 stars due to the very cheap feeling it has. Comes with 2x AAA Batteries installed/included.
