I put this on my fishing rig on a Saturday afternoon. Took about 2 hours- mostly 'cos i was messing with filming it. Nice components and the box really comes with everything you need. Careful with your cuts if you are installing yourself- templates for the speakers help. Wiring diagrams all very straightforward and usable by anyone who can wield tools. Bottom line- an excellent radio for your boat. Haven't got it soaked but seems sturdy.

I ordered this package on May 13, 2012 3:35:59 PM EDT, and went to replace the 16 year old marine radio in my FourWinns 170 Horizon.

Hooked all the power and speaker wires up, the unit would not power up.
I checked power, getting 12.44 volts thru the connector Yellow and Black wires.
I'm just now in the process of contacting Amazon to see what my options are.

I didn't even get around to installing the stereo. I requested a refund within minutes of opening up the box.

Very disappointed with the speaker quality. The speakers are not 2-way speakers as they have fake tweeters (shiny chrome plastic to look like tweeters) I have a pair of speakers with 10oz magnets that weigh more than these speakers.

I would have given it a 3 star but because I feel like Pyle went through all the trouble to fake the tweeter I am only giving them a 2 for wasting my time. Maybe I need to learn the speaker terminology but I don't buy stereos every day so I got sucked into thinking they were 2-way by looking at the pictures.

As for the power head I can't say anything good or bad about it except that it looked odd because the depth of the unit was only about 4". Most stereos I have installed are about 8" deep. Probably shallow depth because it doesn't have to play CD's.

I couldn't get this item to work. I sent it back and ordered a replacement - it didn't work either. Finally bought a DUAL unit locally and it worked fine. Either there is a quirk to the installation or their quality control is poor. All I can offer is that I didn't have any problem installing the DUAL unit and it has the same wiring setup - draw your own conclusions.

I run a small "Dells Ducks" outfit on the outskirts of the Wisconsin Dells. We wanted to outdo our competition so we had one of these supreme systems installed on each one of our aquatic motor vehicles. Now when we hit the water, we do so to the tourists favorite playlists, and we do it with sub woofers and tweeters that broadcast themselves across the entire lake. This was a great investment, and, yes, the system is waterproof. Trust us, we would know.

I tried to install this unit in my boat per the manufacturer's instructions. The first problem was with the printed Owner's Manual. Listed in the table of contents was a reference to a screw or screws that needed to be removed prior to installation. The table of contents said this information would be on Page 3, it is nowhere in the Owner's Manual that comes with the unit. I was able to locate a pdf on the manufacturer's website that does have the information on it's page 3. However, there are no screws anywhere near where the pdf indicates. So, I proceeded with the installation figuring the screws just weren't there. Upon completion of the installation, the unit would not power on at all. I show good power and ground to the unit, it just won't turn on. In conclusion, the name of the company, Pyle, must be an indicator of just what kind of a steaming pile of crap it is. Save your money and buy anything else. Even a Sparco radio is better than this, at least they work.

Features on this radio are very nice. The usb input will charge devices like ipods, but will not allow you to play them. It does have an aux input that works well.

My issue with this radio is the reception. Before ordering it, I read multiple Amazon reviews about poor reception, but I crossed my fingers and hoped it would work ok. I've regretted that decision. I tried a 9" boss antenna first, but reception faded in and out (even when I'm in downtown annapolis on my boat and can see the local radio station 500 yards away). I cursed the antenna, but after replacing it with a 5' shakespeare one, I'm still having the same problem. This radio does not pick up signals well. Buy it to listen to your MP3 players, or if you can't spring for a 150 dollar radio, but you're going to be disappointed with the reception.

I purchased this unit along with a waterproof box for my sailboat in Feb 2015 for my birthday present to me. Come June 10th 2015 time to install. After spending a day cutting holes for the speakers and pulling wires to do a professional looking install, I double check the powerwire connections. Install my deep cycle battery, flip the switch, press the on/off button on the radio and nothing. I recheck connections, they are correct. The radio did not power up. Of coarse the return period is over so I'm stuck with this piece of crap radio.
I normally read the reviews, but for some reason the features and price clouded my better judgement and bought with out reading them. Now when it doesn't work I read them and find I shouldn't have bought the piece of crap in the first place. Now if you search for a marine stereo system this one doesn't even come up. No wonder. If I was Amazon I would refund all money to those who bought these and send them all back to Pyle in China telling them to put them where the sun don't shine.
Not Happy!!!! How can you fix this Amazon????
